    Amazing story

Everything is there but above all the characters are relatable and their past histories are very interesting and although difficult their path towards resilience makes the reader turn every page to know what's going to happen next in the lives of Boxer and Riley/Theo. Their personal experiences are definitely those that any lgbtq youth and adult may have experienced firsthand and/or through friends. The author manages to tell those life-stories without too much pathos and definitely gives hope. A must read for sure.

    Overload

While the stories in this series do end up as great romances, there are so many other threads in them it can be overwhelming reading and keeping them all strait. If you're a soap opera fan or a 'reality' TV watcher then this would probably be fine for you.

    Too much extraneous angst

Loved the base premise but there’s just way too much drama, (every couple of day something horrible happens). At the end, one of the support cast says something about their lives being a “daytime soap opera”, an excellent description of the plot. Needs a lot more MC relationship building and less angst.
