    Excellent

Really enjoyed this book! This is the second in the Deacons of Bourbon Street series and in my opinion, this series really should be read in order to truly understand everything that is going on. This book centers around Travis Sinclair or Cash to the brothers. He's not at all happy about being back in NOLA and is ready to leave the city and memories behind him. Unfortunately his business here isn't quite finished and he can't leave until it is. Getting rid of the tenant in a building he inherited is his first priority, too bad she is one sexy little pixie that really does it for him. Billie Taylor has had it with domineering men. So why the hell is she so attracted to Travis? She should be running hard and fast in the opposite direction. In this battle of wills can anyone really win? Maybe both of them? This is very well written and really moves the story along. I'm definitely a fan of Travis! This is a book and series I would recommend.

    Another biker to drool over

The second book in the Deacons of Bourbon Street series is even better than the first because we get to see more of Ajax and Sophie, find out more about the mysterious circumstances behind Priest's death and of course have a whole new couple to fawn over. Cash and Billie. Cash has left his bad boy biker days behind and made a new life for himself as a security analyst. Billie is making a new life for herself after a failed marriage as an art gallery owner. It is in this very gallery that Cash's old life and new life collide and somehow Billie is caught right in the middle of it. Trying to save themselves from this dangerous attraction to each other on one side, a disaster waiting to happen on the other and still find happiness is going to be a task for the both of them. A good continuation to the series

This is the second in the Deacons of Bourbon Street series and is the story of Travis "Cash" and Billie. While I really enjoyed the first in the series (Ajax and Sophie's story), I found that Travis and Billie had a weaker connection for me in this one. Travis's character alternates between rough to sweet and back again, and I had difficulty getting a fix on him. Still, they had some chemistry and there are some steamy love scenes between the two. Outside of the romance, there is the mystery of Sophie's dad's death that is connecting the stories together and the plot advances in this one as we find out more details about Priest's death. This is a standalone story and there is enough detail that a reader can jump right in with this one, though I highly recommend reading Make You Burn which introduces all the characters. 3 stars, and looking forward to the next one!

    Fun, sexy and quick read

The 2nd installment of the Deacons of Bourbon Street is a fun, sexy and quick read. This book can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend reading the first book in the series so you know about the characters going into this book. Travis "Cash" Sinclair left Bourbon Street of NOLA behind years ago and never looked back. When the president of the Deacons sent him away from the only "family" he had ever known Cash vowed he would never come back. But after the president dies in a motorcycle accident, Cash comes home to say his good-byes. What was supposed to be just a quick stay turns into weeks after her learns that his "brothers" and him have been willed their old club house. Cash wants to sell the property as quickly as possible and head back home, he isn't a biker anymore, now he is a successful business man who wears suits instead of leather. Things change however after Cash goes to the old club house to check things out. Surprise doesn't even begin to describe what he feels when he see that the old club house has been turned into a funky art gallery, but the biggest surprise of all is the bohemian beauty who runs the gallery. Billie Taylor ended up in NOLA after fleeing a bad marriage. She always dreamed of living in NOLA amidst the bright buildings, colorful array of people and the legends. Now running an eclectic and funky art gallery on Bourbon Street, Billie is living the life of her dreams, that is until Travis "Cash" Sinclair struts into her gallery. Cash is sexy, bossy and one of the original bikers of the Deacons of Bourbon Street. When Billie finds out he is also her new landlord and he plans on selling the gallery Billie is stunned, but not as much as when he announces he is also her new roommate while he is in town. Billie refuses to give up her gallery without a fight but is her gallery the only thing she may loose with a man like Cash. Cash and Billie's characters were explosive together which made for a very enjoyable book and addition to the series. I received an eARC copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

Tempers flare, sparks fly and emotions run high...

3.5 stars The Deacons of Bourbon MC haven’t been an active MC for 10 years. Priest, their former leader dies and suddenly Travis, as a former Deacons member, is summoned back to New Orleans for Priest’s funeral. Travis has his own security business, he worked hard to turn his life around and isn't at all eager to face his past and the Deacons. In New Orleans, he finds out that the old club house is now an art gallery and the quick stay he planned won't be possible because there's Priests will and strange circumstances surrounding his death. Billie is the current tenant, owner of the art gallery, she's a kind, bohemian, free spirit girl with a positive vibe. She lives above the gallery, loves the french quarter, she's completely passionate about art and tries to help artists assisting them in exposing their work. Like most badass bikers, Travis hates when things don't go as he planned so when he enters the art gallery, he acts like an arrogant bastard because he just wants to sell everything and get back to his life. To him, Billie is just another complication and he shouldn't notice how hot she is. Billie isn't very happy with the situation too, especially because she feels she found the place where she belongs and doesn't want to give up her space, the french quarter and her independence. She is even less thrilled by the fact that Travis gets under her skin without even trying. Tempers flare, sparks fly and emotions run high... I really enjoyed the second book in the Deacons series. It was easy to like Travis and Billie and I really enjoyed their story but I wanted a little more development about the unanswered questions surrounding their exile and Priest's death. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
