  • Good Story..

*Disclaimer: I received this book from Totally Bound in exchange for a fair and honest review* ***If the topic of rape is a trigger for you, please do not read this book*** Cassian is a scribe for his countries ruler, Maurus. Maurus is known to take advantage of his servants and workers and Cassian tries his best not to catch his eye. Maurus sends him on a mission, to capture the Firebird, who Cassian is led to believe is a monster, pure evil. What happens when Cassian gets saved by the Firebird and learns everything he has been taught about the creatures is wrong? How can he save the Firebird from the fate that is set for him? This book was okay. The second half of the book is where the most excitement occurs and keeps you reading and wanting more. There are a few scenes where the idea of rape is discussed or the action occurs without it being described as such. That made me cringe. The story was interesting as to the relationship between Cassian and the Firebird, Arturri. The way that the author described the Firebird race sounded absolutely beautiful with such vibrant colors. I do wish there would have been a bit more suspense during the latter half of the book and that the first half of the book would have been a bit more about the relationship and difference in races, rather than just sex, or so it seemed.

    Thanks for your feedback!
