A great book in the Dragon Kings series

Donna Grant writes a superb urban fantasy and this series is getting better with each book. I love how she intertwines her different book series into one world that keeps the reader guessing and wondering what will happen next, I am completely addicted.

    Paranormal Romance

Firestorm by Donna Grant Dark Kings #10 Dragon bones found in a cave are just the hook at the beginning of this fast paced story. With dark forces wanting to get their hands on the bones and existing dragons wanting the bones to disappear a lot is at stake. Add in snippets from other series all linked to the Dark Kings series and I came away wanting to begin at the beginning with books unread and read them all. I was not lost and this book does stand on its own but I felt that if I had read the previous books and the other series linked to it I would have seen more and been able to understand a bit more at some points in the story. Dmitri, King of the White Dragons, is sent by his king to Fair Isle to deal with the dragon bones. They must disappear and he is chosen to take care of the issue. Little did he know going in that he would find a smart, strong, and sensual woman, Faith Reynolds, who would end up being his mate. With evil magic and Dark Fae to contend with, bones to save, a love undying to create and a mystery still unsolved this book had a lot going on. I enjoyed the relationship between Dmitri and Faith and really want to know who her father might be (maybe a dragon?) and wonder how that will play into the next book. I also wonder what will happen with other characters mentioned in the book even though I have just heard of them for the first time. I hope that a solution will be found for the dragons and that their King of Kings will find a HEA someday. I can almost see this as a TV series…wonder who I would sign for actors and actresses to play the parts… Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC. This is my honest review. 4 Stars

    Great Exciting Read!

Firestorm' by Donna Grant is book ten in the "Dark Kings" series. This is the story of Dimitri and Faith. I have been jumping in and out of this series so for me this was a standalone book. Faith is a Archaeologist who has found a Dragon skeleton. Dimitri has been sent to destroy the Dragon skeleton so that him and his people can keep their shifting Dragon history a secret. Dimitri and the other Dragon Shifters are pretty much immortal. So Dimitri feels that he had let his fellow Dragon down by leaving this one behind so many years ago. Faith's mother has had a love for Dragaon and now that she is gone but has found this skeleton remains feels it was meant to be. So she is very protective of the skelton. Dimitri find himself doing things he wasn't sent to do...like helping Faith protect the skeleton and not destroying it. In addition he usually is only attracted to Fae but can't seem to stop wanting this 'human'. This book had the mystery and the sexiness that makes you now want to put this book down...which I did not! "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."
