    Stellar Romance - Loved It!

Another stellar novel from Susan Elizabeth Phillips! I love this series because each book has a couple that is endearing with an enduring romance. Reading the romance of Cooper and Piper made me want to pick up the past seven books, read them and then reread this one again. Cooper is a man who has retired from football at the top of his game. He has set his goals, is pursuing them and everything looks rosy. Piper has her own set of goals and with surveillance of Cooper her first “job” as a detective owning her own agency things are looking good until he spots and confronts her. Cooper and Piper are not likely romantic partners with the typical sweet dynamics…nope…they tend to strike sparks while goading one another in ways that are definitely not romantic. They do become more and more aware of one another as a variety of interesting issues and people are dealt with. Piper’s friends were fun to get to know and it was nice to catch up with some of the characters in previous books of the series. I heartily recommend this book to anyone who likes contemporary romance and want to thank Harper Collins Publishers and Edelweiss-above the treeline for the copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I have to add that this is one author I have always purchased. I have shipped her novels from one country to the next as I have moved and am planning to eventually have all of them on my ereader.

    Electrifying

Love love love Susan's books. The sarcasm, grit and reality or life. Piper and Coop's story is electrifying and real. Together they see what is real in this world of smoke and mirrors. She keeps you guessing with the subplots. Can't wait for #9......

    First Star I See Tonight

First Star I See Tonight by Susan Elizabeth Phillips is one of the best written stories I’ve read this year. It’s the story of Chicago Stars’ retired Quarterback Cooper Graham and detective Piper Dove. Piper is investigation Cooper for a client by following him around Chicago. As their interactions continue Piper is found out and has to stop working for her client. However, Cooper hires her to help solve some irregularities at his nightclub. The longer these two work together, the more they discover that they care for each other. There are other events that happen in this book that involve Piper and Cooper but mainly indirectly. There’s the freeing of a servant from a royal family. Then there’s the solving the mystery of who is trying to sabotage Cooper’s nightclub to ensure that he will not get the financial support he’s been seeking for expansion. There’s also the person who’s been out to hurt Cooper. Piper becomes his bodyguard to keep him safe. This was a fun and entertaining story with loveable characters that you want to know and hang out with. Susan Elizabeth Phillips displays what she does best, writing a story that enfolds the reader with humor and a wonderful story line. Her characters were well written, authentic and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end, as I read this book in one day. I could not put this book down. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this book to other readers.

If you haven't started this series yet then do!

First Star I See Tonight is the eighth installment in the fabulous Susan Elizabeth Phillips's adult contemporary/sports romance series titled Chicago Stars. I thought this series was finished so I was super excited to hear Ms. Phillips' announcement that an additional book was being added to the collection. It was fun and sexy, just like I expected. However, I wasn't expecting a mystery component! ...but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I absolutely loved that the heroine was a trained bodyguard. Kickass women are my favorite! When it comes to this series, every book is a winner so do yourself a favor and stop reading reviews and just start the series! You'll be a SEP fan in no time ♥

    Fits the series

SEP still has it, I love he combination of humour and romance in her book. She writes the best heroines! And I loved the "cameo appearances" from previous Chicago stars books
