  • A Week in Paris!

It is nice to read about an “older matured women” for a change. Refreshing! 73 year old Jen accepted a marriage proposal and decides to have a destination party with four of her best friends. So, off they go to Paris to celebrate her up-coming nuptial. Along with sightseeing and fine dining, each one of them takes the opportunity to have an introspective look into their lives. The first few chapters delves into their lives while living in England. Loneliness, good and bad marriages, lost partner, the single life. Once they hit Paris you begin to see them gaining more confidence in themselves, it is beautiful to see! Changes are not easy, especially when you are in your seventies but these women showed me it can be done. Their transformation was absolutely awe-inspiring. A week in Paris was all that was needed for them to be filled with inspiration and renewed with determination.

  • Highly recommended

A well written and engrossing read that mixes fun and some reflection on one own life. I love the well written cast of character, they're relatable and interesting. I hope to have such a zest for life when I'm their age. The plot is well crafted and entertaining, the setting vivid and well described. I look forward to reading other books by this author. Highly recommended. Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

  • Such Fun

Finally, a book that features senior ladies having fun. Senior women moving on with their lives and finding happiness and being able to be their full selves are rarely found in literature. Often this comes after spending their twenties, to mid fifties as wives and mothers, lovely years, but mostly putting others first. Nice to see us being represented in literature for a change, instead of always mid-twenty to mid- thirty year olds. Some of my best years, after a divorce at 51, came as I rebuilt my life, eventually found the love of my life, (didn’t rush into ANYTHING) and was finally able to become the person I was inside. Loved this book.
