  • Hard pass

None of the characters were likable, I wish I had taken a hard pass on this tale of neurotic NY.

  • Narcissistic

I picked this book for a book club and I don’t regret it! There were long parts of the book where I wondered whether fleishman’s trouble would ever end! At times I cringed at the overtly male perspective that dominated the main narrative, yet it was actually told from a 3rd person female. A feminist book, brilliantly done.

  • Enjoyable read

I thoroughly enjoyed the style of writing and the story. I appreciated the three perspectives on one marriage with an ending that left the reader wondering.

  • A real New York story

This one kept me guessing, as the point of view of the narration changed from one character to the next, but it was really an original work and one I enjoyed very much.
