A humorous glimpse into the mad world of the upper

A humorous glimpse into the mad world of the upper crust is what made this book irresistible. The satire of the “privileged class” was spot on, and the clever, if not quirky characters, were such a kick to spend time with. I’d love to know if these characters were based on real people. With all the depressing books floating around out there, it was a treat to read something light and delightful.

A fun romp with stylish flair

Three characters in their twenties stumble into a series of art thefts and can't help but involve themselves. The main character, Annabel, seeks professional vindication from the machinations of a forger who cost her her job, and the other main characters (Evan and Lyla) are along for the ride. With entertaining banter, these amateur sleuths navigate the mad world of the upper crust as they put the pieces together to unravel the crimes. The uppity suspects are portrayed with just enough satire to elicit laughter, while interesting art references are peppered throughout. I liked that! Overall, a light but entertaining read that I recommend.

A fun read with lovable characters

A fun read with lovable characters and a clever plot that moved like lightning in places. I felt like I was there in the scene, infiltrating an underground speakeasy, sneaking around an abandoned hotel, seeking information from an old hermit at the history museum, navigating twists along the way... Will recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries, humor, and culture.

Great read, fast paced art caper in the Northwest!

Loved it! In her debut novel the author introduces us to three friends, Annabel, Lyla, & Evan with varied backgrounds, personalities, and intellects. Things get moving quickly when the trio are caught crashing an exclusive art gala, have an unpleasant encounter with a nasty character, and get snared at a speakeasy. There's something shady going on in the art community as these inquisitive pals soon discover. With many surprising twists and turns the author takes you on a journey filled with laughter, fanciful banter, wonderful art references, and much more as the trio works to solve a series of art heists.

    Nice break from murder mysteries

Murder mysteries are typically my go-to genre, though when I received this book as a gift, I decided to give it a go. What a pleasant surprise! The imagery was colorful and the twists were unexpected. The amateur sleuths who stumbled into the art thefts drew me in with their witty banter and unique personalities. The eccentric suspects they tracked down then provided for some entertaining encounters. At times I laughed out loud. It’s hard not to with characters like these. Overall, a nice break from murder mysteries.
