    Small town contemporary romance

Small town Harmony Springs is the setting for this new series by Mindy Klasky. The first story of the series introduces some of the characters for future books but focuses on two injured but very strong people. Lexi Taylor suffered physical pain and damage when she was only twelve and it has impacted her ever since – sometimes in ways she is not really aware of any longer. Tom Finnegan “Finn” is in town to follow up on a promise he made to a comrade in arms. Finn is carrying baggage from his childhood, the war and the loss of his friend – this overlaps into his life and leaves him not only with PTSD but other issues he needs to deal with. Finn and Lexi have chemistry from the very beginning but will chemistry be enough to provide them with more than a temporary relationship. 3.5 Stars

    Fly me to the Moon

Serious and heartwarming at the same time. I liked the main characters because they were very real. PTSD can take on many forms. The fight to survive it is a hard path to follow. I liked how the author dealt with it. Although I found the book a little steamy the rest of the story made up for it.

We need more book like this.

Nice, easy reading. Good plot and characters. I enjoyed the small town feel, where eveyone knows each other, always makes a story more realistic.

Christmas Of Healing in Harmony Springs!

This is the first time I read something from author Mindy Klasky and I have to say that I liked it. Christmas decoration store owner, Lexi Taylor has her own issues and tragedies but she remains upbeat and empathetic. Definitely, one of those female characters who plays the role of saviour. War vet, Tom "Finn" Finnegan has just left the army and is visiting the small town of Harmony Springs. He has a mission to complete but he doesn't realize that he has many demons to combat before he will be able to handle his business. These two injured souls get matched up in circumstances that are not pleasant whatsoever. However, seeing how each of them get over their fears and fight for their well-being individually was a treat to watch. The base and the build of this story was amazing. This writer really did her homework and truly captured the essence of trauma and heartbreak. I loved that part! However, sometimes I found her to be to descriptive of things that didn't need that much detail. She describes the dinner date between Finn and Lexi with long account of the food, how they took bites and the ambiance. I wish she had used that section to delve a little further into their relationship instead. Also, the representation of the hot and/or romantic scenes between the characters lacked depth and were a little superficial. I really enjoyed the beginning and then the middle was a little blasé but then the last three or four chapters had me engrossed again. I did appreciate the story and it was well planned out for sure. Recommend reading the book, if you want to explore a contemporary romance that has some realism.
