  • An entertaining and witty romance

Cree had dreams and aspirations, but then life threw her a curveball and those dreams crumbled at her feet. That wasn't the first time she had suffered deep disappointment, which is why she finds herself cleaning a disgustingly dirty cabin after a bunch of guys held a party there. Henry had also suffered disappointment when his father died and he found that he not only had custody for his five-year-old sister but was forced to take over his father's business when his interests lay in a completely different direction. Even though Henry has to fire Cree for being the worst ever cleaner he has employed, there is something about her that sparks his interest. Despite her outright rejection of him, Henry discovers that he will do what it takes to win her over. In doing so, Henry invents ways to not only reach Cree but to also bring the smile back to his sister's sweet face. Finding a new way to employ Cree results in a shopping trip that not only brings out his sister's smile but her wholehearted laughter as well. Unfortunately, Hendry cannot help himself and when his interference once again has Cree backing off, he has to find new and inventive ways to calm her frustration. Although there is a great deal of underlying pain in this novel, there is also humour and witty dialogue. The romance bubbles below the surface as both Cree and Henry work through the layers of past experiences that are hindering their progress. This novel is well written and entertaining and one cannot help but fall in love with the main characters. Henry's bumbling efforts are so kind and generous that one feels for him when Cree only sees his interference. On the other hand, one can empathise with Cree frustrated failure and her need to find love and in particular, the acceptance of her father. The story is a standalone and comes a happy conclusion. He threw her out of his home cos she lost her job but fortunately for her, another offer came for her from an unexpected source. Henry was her boss that fired her from her former cleaning job. He fired her but found himself thinking of her and couldn't put her out if his mind. He thought of a way of having her close to him and decided to hire her as a dance instructor for his baby sister.
