For Nothing, intense, macabre tale of cat and mouse between a flawed detective and an assassin within a mafia backdrop. The book contains a mixture of a little bit of fact and a little bit of fiction. Nicholas is a great author because he has the ability to make you have empathy for the characters he portrays. The book contains a lot of powerful imagery which makes it all the more believable. This tale illustrates that not everything is black and white. Although, they are on opposite sides of the law, I do believe Alex and Rafael are pretty much cut from the same cloth. I found myself liking the good guy and the bad guy at the same time. There is a sprinkling of black humour and a pretty sweet twist at the end but I’m not into spoilers. You shall just have to read it! Luckily for me this book was written two years ago, so I didn’t have to wait for tale number 2. I highly recommend this book especially if you enjoy crime thrillers and ultra-violence. My favourite quote: "Once upon a time, eh? Well, the thing about fairy tales is they only come true if you will them to."
