    Face a Psycho, or run?

Facing fears - Peri Jean seems to have to do this in spades. Hang on for a fun ride!

    A can't-put-it-down thrill-ride!

If you've ever called someone a pud, eaten a can of whump biscuits, or had to pee on your own appendage to take out the sting of bull nettle, you'll freakin' love this book. Even if you haven't, you'll still get a kick out of it. It's not easy to create a character readers can relate to and want to follow on their journey, especially spanning a lengthy series. Many times, the characters become flat or, in later books, are just washed-out, repetitive versions of themselves, slogging through stale storylines in an endless, desperate loop. That is NOT the case with Peri Jean Mace (known as PJM for the remainder of this review). PJM is one of the truest characters I've ever met. She's genuine. She's real, flawed and vulnerable at times and tough-as-nails at others. Her plight is compelling, her supporting cast just as authentic as she is. In this most recent installment, PJM not only has to come to grips (in a big way) with her unnerving gifts but also has to deal with the very human disappointment of lost love, injured friends, irreparably damaged friendships, and the forced necessity of letting go of the past—all the while, ducking and dodging the fear, hate, and cruelty associated with the stubborn ignorance of those around her. Does she handle all of this perfectly? No. But she handles it, and that's what makes her so authentic, just plain relatable, and kind of my hero. This book, as is true with all in this series, is a real page-turner and terrific thrill-ride. PJM and her creator have a fan for life!

Wonderful series! Each book in the series grabs you and won't let go until you finish it.
