  • A Wonderful Tale

Wow. Intense start to this wondrous story by Kris Kennedy, which I was so happy to see! So intrigued by the premise and yes, it held everything needed to capture my interest. Secrets, lies, murder, a braw knight intent on seeking retribution and retrieving his beloved sword. Irish warrior Mael had been beaten senseless, but he recovered and goes to a tournament of the man he sought, Baron D'Argent . But he found more that he expected. D'Argent's beautiful daughter Cassie was attending because the tournament would culminate in one of the winning Knights to become he husband. She felt all of her dreams would come true. A fearless knight, protector, who would be chivalrous and hopefully care for her... Yes, she was a naive dreamer but then she was held by Mael until her father returned with what he seeked. In his tent alone. A woman of privilege and a hardened warrior who had survived so much. But something strange happened in his company... She began to feel alive with their banter and oh just sip of that firewater. I want to just tell you the entire story, I enjoyed it so much! But that would spoil it and trust me, you will fall in love with Mael and seeing the journey these two take! I am so excited to learn this is a series by several different authors and if Kris's tale is the beginning, I cannot wait for more! A keeper!!

  • Awesome Medieval Romance!!

Forbidden Warrior (Midsummer Knights Book 1) by Kris Kennedy is another exciting story in the "MIDSUMMER KNIGHTS" series. "Book 1 in 'A Midsummer Knights Romance'; Book 2 in the 'Renegade Lords' series". Can be read as a stand alone. Set in 1183, when turmoil between the Scottish and English borders Meet, Irish warrior Máel and Lady Cassia d'Argent. Their story is well written and well excuted. The characters are well developed, engaging and interesting. I enjoyed Mael and Cassia's story, with intrigue, a bit of mystery, suspense and plenty of passion. If you enjoy stories of chivalry and strong warrior skills, treason and so much more, then "Forbidden Warrior" will be your Medieval Romance. Kris Kennedy never disappoints her readers with her rich characters, lush countryside, descriptions of events at a tournament. A must read! Definitely a keeper! "I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however,  these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review." Rating: 4.5 Heat rating: Mild Reviewer: AprilR
