  • EEK!

THE CRASH was the prequel and first book I've read by this author team. I've read many of Skye Warren's books so I was looking forward to it! They write magic together. This was a slow burn then super steamy MF, MM MFM read! Well it's not all that slow time-line wise. Not what I was expecting, but I'm loving this storyline and characters. The cliffhanger was brutal! I cannot wait for the next book. I have not read the previous books in this world. I'm definitely interested in doing so now!!

  • Survival romance with a twist... or two

This is a good story. Gripping, powerfully written. It feels intimate, even philosophical. A man with evil secrets and an innocent woman in danger because of his deeds. They end up crashing on an island. You should totally read The Crash, which is a fantastic prologue. This first part of a trilogy focuses on the pull they feel towards each other, but also the mortal surroundings that seem like a renewed biblical paradise with its own kind of snake. It is primal. It is full of guilt and sensuality and instincts against reason. I liked reading it because I immersed myself in the heat, the jungle and basic human needs. Yet it also felt a bit repetitive as the inner dialogue of the characters goes over the same things again and again. Also, they are too drenched in lust for people who are fighting for their lives every step of their way through the jungle. And there's a surprising character thrown in in the middle who also happens to want part of the fun (not what I envisioned nor desired). A little messy, but intense and intriguing enough to want to find out the mystery behind the plot. It might have a porno vibe and a shocking cliffhanger. You are warned ;-)

  • danger, deception and desires

Force of Nature by Skye Warren and Amelia Wilde is a dark MMF romance set in the terrifying and fascinating set up of an island full of danger, deception and desires. Survival romance meets romantic suspense in this steamy and drama packed novel. The first half of the story is the free prequel released before, The Crash. If you have read it, you can skip it. Botany professor and secret agent Carter Morelli's plane got crashed into an island. And he is stranded here with co passenger photographer June Porter. She doesn't know she was in danger. Now they have to survive here. And there is a man in the island. Theo. Who is he? Is he a threat? This story is packing a lot. Being first book of a series, this is more about building up the characters. Theo comes late in the story and there a lot we dont know about him. Carter is definitely the alpha hero of this story. Dark. Dominating. Skilled. Resourceful. Coming from a violent and twisted family has messed him up and his work as a high profile agent is an outlet. This situation is out of control for him. June is upsetting his balance. He doesn't know how to process the presence of this innocent, sweet and beguiling woman who may become casualty of a lethal undercover mission unknowingly. He is attracted to her and his instincts want to protect her. June is confused and scared but she was very resilient. Theo appeared when they were in a life and death situation. A man who has lived in this island since early age because of his religious mothed. Who doesn't want touch of civilisation. Who thinks the outside world as devil. Though he helped them and they had a lust fuelled extreme experience...can he be trusted? The connection between June and Carter was well built. But it's too early to say how I feel about the dynamics of June, Carter and Theo. I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
