    God Given Hope

Every book I read by Jody Hedlund is a winner and this one may be my favorite one yet. Beside the swoon-worthy romance there's an added element of danger, kidnapping and mystery. Victoria is the only daughter of a very wealthy father who caters to her every whim. When she begins to get threatening letters and her bodyguard is attacked and almost left for dead, her father takes action and hires another man, Tom, to keep her safe. Eventually it's decided to fully protect her, she must be taken to a safe undisclosed location. Tom takes her to his parents where his father is head lighthouse keeper. I loved how Victoria changed over a period of time. Being spoiled all her life and waited on hand and foot, she finds her new circumstances hard to accept at first. She is thrust head first into trying to cook, do laundry and sew. All new to her. Victoria and Tom both had pasts that were haunting them and causing them to hold back in their relationships. Neither were willing to share their stories and hurts with the other. This of course caused misunderstanding and hesitation in their interactions. But the danger was still lurking in the shadows and when Tom was ready to let her whereabouts be known to try and draw the culprit out, it worked. This story will keep your heart pounding with the danger and the romance, both equally dispersed among the pages. This was a quick read for me. I just had to know who was stalking Victoria and why. God given hope was an underlying element that we all can learn and grow from. No matter the circumstances or dangers we may face, God is always there to hold our hand and let us know he is in control. I received this ebook from the publisher by request of the author for my honest opinion, which I have given.
