    Just brilliant

Really enjoyed this book. So glad that this is the first in what hopefully will be a series. No spoilers but what an intriguing central character that you really want to know better and follow. I cannot imagine how she will grow after this but cannot wait to find out. Hopefully the whole department will be developing as well as they were all quite intriguing parts of the whole plot.

    heartstopping rollercoaster ride

Jess Bishop has problems and she knows it. Her childhood hero, her father, did the unthinkable and till this day Jess can’t coop with he damage he inflicted on her. She has a hard time trusting people and always holds them at arms length. One of the few people she let into her life, her FBI partner Jamison, left her for a undercover job and when he is back, he seems to be a changed man. When there are bodies found decapitated and the limps cut off, suspicions arise. Could it be the work of a law enforcement worker? This was a really great read. It was easy to get drawn into the story and feeling the anxiety and horror Jess must have felt with every new body found. And when everything was solved, the killer unmasked, it felt good. But there is so much more I want to know about Jess, that I can’t wait for the next book. I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Endeavour Press!

    Thrilling and gripping

Now You See Me by Kierney Scott is so well written! A great thriller with layered twist and turns that kept me guessing who the killer was. I could not put this book down, i was so enthralled ...i kept saying one more chapter and before i knew it, i was done the book. I love that the main character is damaged and is developing who she is, even though her past will haunt her future! The ending made me do ...omg...i friggin love this book! This book is gripping and intense....leaves you wanting more...Kierney Scott is brilliant and master storyteller!!

    One Helluva Well Plotted Thriller!

This is one for those who like their murders gritty and don’t mind graphic descriptions. It is one helluva well plotted thriller. First in a new series in what I understand is a new genre for author Kierney Scott, and it makes for compulsive reading. I love the lead character of FBI Special Agent Jess Bishop who comes complete with flaws and she makes for riveting reading. Slowly, bit by bit her history comes to light as the layers are peeled back in tandem with the case progression. There is plenty to mull over as you read on – this book is packed with information. Whilst realising that the details are integral to solving the murders, for me personally I could have done without quite as many gory descriptions – but that’s just me. I have plenty of friends where that will be the big attraction! I tend to take crime thrillers as they come, rarely working out who did what and to whom but I worked this one out about half way through – it seemed so obvious to me and despite a few red herrings along the way I never doubted who the killer was. Unusually, I was right! However, that said I would love to read more about Jess and her colleagues and will surely be looking out for the second book. As long as you aren’t squeamish, I would certainly recommend this one! My thanks to Bookouture for allowing me to access an arc via NetGalley. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

    Wowsers!

God, he loved a good hunt. Obviously, the kill was better. But a kill was over too quickly. Now You See Me grabbed me right from the start!! I knew instantly from the first couple of pages I was dealing with a sick twisted individual! That was me hooked! I was totally intrigued about Jess. There’s constant hints that she’s hiding something dark and the more I read, the more pieces of the jigsaw slotted into place. I was however very jealous of Jess with her quadruple screen set up. I love my dual screen at work but having four would make things so much easier in the way I multitask… #muststartonthatbusinesscase…. I personally think the author has drawn her experience as a romantic suspense author and expertly inserted elements into a complex tale of dead bodies, clues and suspects. I’m not going to say too much but the sexual tension leapt of the page at me and Jess’ dalliances were…well definitely the no strings variety! And oh the climax!!!! Did not see that coming!! Brilliant, can’t wait for book 2!! I can’t believe this is Kierney Scott’s first crime novel. It’s brilliantly crafted to keep you guessing with enough gore and bodies for any crime fiction fan. I’ve said in the past that I’ve not been keen on US based crime fiction, despite having loved it 15/20 years ago. But the more I’m reading, the less inclined I am to sidestep such novels. Kierney Scott is on my list of authors I definitely will not be sidestepping in the future!
