Riveting kidnapping story with a twist

Fortune (red) was another classic Scuddiere story. I would give it 4 ½ stars. The characters were unforgettable and the story completely grabbed a hold of me from the very beginning. This story follows the viewpoint of Mia, the mother of an abducted girl. Throughout the story Mia learns more about her adopted daughter’s past and how nothing was as it seemed to her. To me it was easy to understand Mia’s feelings and motivations. This made her more relatable and the story more powerful. As each twist was revealed I found myself more drawn to the story and more mentally invested in the outcome. This book is an Equel. It, along with Fortune (gray) tell two halves to a single story. While each one could be read alone, since each gives enough of the story to be sufficient, one needs to read both to know everything (at least everything that is known by the two main characters, whose viewpoints you are exposed to). That being said, I would recommend reading this one first if you choose to read both. I found it to give away less that would effect how one experiences the other story. Though Fortune (gray was my favorite of the two, I would definitely recommend Fortune (red) to everyone.

    Thriller for the savvy reader!

A smart, savvy read with more twists and turns than a roller coaster. Will keep you guessing until the end! You'll go back and re-read whichever version you started with to see all of the clues fall into place. Great for thriller junkies!
