  • Excellent Space Opera!

Rachel Bach's "Paradox" series is a hidden gem! Her protagonist, Devi, is a multi-layered soldier in the tradition of characters like Aeryn Sun of "Farscape". Bach's alien life forms, including sentient birds, are unique. This series would make an excellent movie - fast paced, lots of action, and a kick-ass woman!

  • Power Armor Space Opera!

From Starship Troopers to Warhammer 40K, I love stories about powered armor. The characters were interesting, with enough detail about each one to make me very interested in reading the next in the series. The author mentions and you can really tell that there has been a lot of work put into the world building to make sure that everything in this wonderful universe makes sense and works together. The one thing I don't like is the cover art, it doesn't match the descriptions of the armor in the book very well at all. I imagined something closer to a mix between Samus from Metroid and Warhammer 40k Sisters of Battle armor.

    Thanks for your feedback!
