  • Neil Gaiman is a great author, he is like a cross between PG Wodehouse and Douglas Adams but with better characterisation. The book ranges from witty to laugh out loud humour. The poetry could be cut with no great loss, but otherwise a series of stunning short stories, varying from mild horror, to fantasy with a twist. If you are a fan of Gaiman you'll love it. If you are not a fan of Gaiman, if you like short stories at a slight angle to reality, with good use of language, and unexpected twists then you should get this. Naturally as in any collection of short stories, when some end you are often left wanting more, but they are fragile gems to be savoured.

    Thanks for your feedback!
