FRAGMENTS OF ASH By Katy Regnery

I loved this story...at times I wanted to put it down because of the sad life Ashley (Ash) had to live. But like all fairytales it didn’t disappoint . Ashley born to an unwed mother of eighteen years and parents not willing to help is never a good start. Tig her mother was forced to call her daughter her sister to save face for her Catholic parents. But Ashley’s life was no fairytale from her supermodel mother’s life fame and drugs to the man she settles for to help her raise Ashley. Mose is a monster who has plans for Ashley. Can people from her past help her or will this Cinderella never reach the ball. Katy you have a way with words can’t wait for your next book

Oh my goodness! Fragments of Ash is one of the best books I have ever read! It is frightening, suspenseful, sad and romantic. KATY REGNERY has written an emotional masterpiece that will cause you to feel, really feel the journey of discovery that Ashley undertakes. The good characters are wonderful, the bad characters have no souls, and the others? Just flawed people - and very much human. This is a book that I could not put down. My heart raced and my stomach ached, and I prayed for a happy ending. The author tied all loose ends and gave us a lovely HFN ending. She leaves the door open for a sequel, but if she ends the story here, you are not disappointed!

    A Twisted Cinderella tale

I received an ARC of this book to read in exchange for a fair review. Fragments of Ash is the 7th book in Katy Regnery’s Modern Fairytale series. It’s dark and slightly twisted take on Cinderella. Ashley Ellis was born out of wedlock when her mom was only 16 and has spent most of her life pretending that her mom is her sister. Her ex super model mom dies mysteriously and her puritanical grandparents abandon her to the care of her dangerously evil stepfather. When she finds out that he plans to have her take her mother’s place as his wife she flees to the only safe harbour she has her godfather Gus. To keep her safe Gus and his partner Jock hide her at a property Jock owns but rents out to glass artist and disgraced former secret service agent Julian Ducharme. The chemistry between Ashley and Julian is hotter than the glass he blows. Unfortunately her stepfather is looking for her and he wants her back alive or dead. Quite steamy. Insta-Love romance with a hint of darkness.

I’ve one read one other ‘Fairytale’ story by Katy Regnery and I really enjoyed it. It didn’t quite prepare me for Fragments of Ash. I really felt for Ash and couldn’t help falling in love with her character. She had a lot to deal with and having a crazy, sexually delinquent step-father didn’t help. Thank goodness for her Godfather Gus and his adorable boyfriend Jock. They took good care of her and saved her from a life of well… we don’t want to think about ‘that’. I adored Julien to, even if he was Mr Grouchy, or tried to be, lol. Julien is living in a self-imposed exile, all alone except for his younger sister when she comes to visit him. He doesn’t know what to do with Ash when she’s suddenly shoved into his care. He’s attracted to her, but thanks to his past he finds it hard to trust anyone. Ash needs help, though and she’s so vulnerable that he can’t stop from blurring his own lines. This was a sweet, sad and sexy story, it had a dash of mystery and suspense thrown in too plus the murky, twisted element that was her step-dad. If you’re looking for something just a little bit different this weekend, then grab yourself a comfy seat and download this little gem today.
