    A fine fantasy novel 3.5

I read this not too long after it had been published and I had to re-read the preview to write this review. This was the first fantasy novel I read that was set in Toronto and I was both excited and uneasy about this. As I read, I found myself travelling down streets and through parks I was familiar and notlosing the thread of the story. It was easy to become involved with, and believe in the characters because of the simplicity of the tale itself. Faire and magic exists for those who can see it and whilst Toronto is seen as a stodgy, uptight town, this shows us that we can believe in the magic around us while maintaining our calm outward face. A worthwhile read for the pleasure of escape and to learn about the streets of Toronto.
