    Addicting

This book hooked me immediately, i wouldn't call it a fantasy re-telling but rather a story with aspects of one. The story it self is amazing and wonderfull, i really like the writing style of Kaitlyn and will definetely buy more book of her.

    enjoyable fairytale retelling

magic can be beautiful and dangerous at the same time. It can be used to help and heal, but also turned to a weapon. So is it with hope, the greatest magic of all. Jade was under the curse of the magic -frozen, cold, dead on the inside, unfeeling, a stranger to emotions since her childhood. Until she met Asher - the one wanted by queen Deirdre, the heir to the kingdom, the one who knows love and compassion. Ending up in the rebel camp, Jade comes alive again - only to be haunted by her choices and the inevitable consequences of her actions. Nice and fast retelling of the sleeping beauty, set up into a magical dystopian environment, with enchanting magic making the story really intriguing. I liked the romance between Jade and Asher and the development shown in their personalities, even though I'd have liked to see more in-depth growth of them. Even more interesting were the glimpses of the different layers of queen Deirdre's personality - hard and evil, vulnerable, lonely, sort of desperate.. it made her in the end more human than she was presented on the surface. I enjoyed the fast plot development, devouring the story in less than two days, and I would like to see more of this world in the future.
