  • I look forward to seeing Jack and Laurie again

For those of you who are used to Robin Cook's style, this is a slight departure from the usual. Rather than insurance companies trying to kill patients before they cost too much or some strange conspiracy theory, this is just a straight "who done it". It's nice to see the return of Jack and Laurie; of all the recurring characters he uses, these are my favorites. On quibble that I have (but this isn't just with Robin Cook, it's with a lot of mystery writers) is that if you are more or less righting a procedural, the 3 or 4 chapters (other than the prologue) that deal with the criminal and what he is thinking don't really belong in a procedural story.

    Thanks for your feedback!
