    Fantastic

Getting Hot with the Scot is a fun, lighthearted romantic comedy that left me with a huge smile on my face. There is a ton of humor and witty banter in this one that makes it a joy to read. I enjoyed the author's writing style and character development so I will definitely be looking for more from her. In this story we have Cassie Crow, an American on vacation in Scotland. She only has one thing on her "to do" list and Logan Reid is the perfect Scot to help her complete it! Don't miss their story, I highly recommend it.

    Getting Hot With The Scot

Fun and sexy and did I say fun! Cassie Crow and her girlfriends are on a European trip and their last destination is Scotland, her choice, but really all she wanted on this vacation was a wild one-night stand and that is why she packed the box of condoms. However, the box is still unopened and they are soon heading home. Just when things are really boring, she takes a wrong turn and runs into a red headed Scot in a kilt. Oh my, she just could not pass by the man in a kilt and didn't realize it was a prank until she figured out who he was, Logan Reid, and once she did it was over but not before the kiss that rocked both their worlds. He needs to get her to sign a release and she is having nothing to do with it and he will chase her across England to get it. Along the way so much sexy times and lots of fun happens. Don't forget the girlfriends are along and Logan has a friend too, Theo, who is a hoot. Such great characters keep this story going and I cannot wait for the next book in this series! **Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**

It was the kilt that did it!

With a fling on her mind and liquor in her belly, when Cassie sees this hot, hot, hot guy in a kilt with the best Scottish accent ever, her mind just naturally leaps to the most logical conclusion: He’s a warrior from long ago, a Highland hero sent forward in time to find his true love, obviously Cassie. Getting Hot with the Scot takes off with this hilarious start and never slows down. The time-traveling warrior? Not so much, more like a practical joke at Cassie’s expense. But the fling? Oh, yeah, that’s gonna happen. And after that comes a sweet, sexy, swoon-worthy story about two people who love to fling but who might also be developing other feelings. It’s a fun romp through Europe with some truly outrageous, laugh-out-loud moments and some incredible tenderness. Love is in the air, but can it last and can it survive separation? Getting Hot with the Scot is a delightful start to what promises to be a favorite series. The writing is excellent, far above the typical chick lit. The supporting characters are fun and funny, with depth and interesting personalities and quirks and I want to be best friends with all of them. The plot moves quickly, with a satisfying conclusion and just enough of a peek into the next story to make me want to read it right now. Thanks to St. Martin's Paperbacks and NetGalley for providing an advanced copy of Getting Hot with the Scot for me to read and review. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

    4 SHINY NEW AUTHOR STARS

Getting Hot With the Scot is the start of a new series by Melonie Johnson. It’s also my first book by her and I even though the male lead is Scottish, just like me, I still loved . Just like Cassie did. Logan is a hot, sex on a stick Scot with an accent that makes foreign women like her melt their panties. Cassie’s on holiday and wants a one night stand and gets her wish fulfilled by him. Logan likes to play tricks and it’s not to everyone’s cup of tea but I liked it. There’s more to him than simple Shenanigan’s and Cassie holds all the cards. If you want something a little different from the norm, then grab this today.

Steamy, sexy vacation fling? Yes, please!

Steamy, sexy vacation fling? Yes, please! Getting Hot with the Scot was a fun read that left me wanting to hop on a plane and find me my own kilted vacation souvenir! Logan was all sorts of fun but it’s so obvious that he uses his humor as a bit of a shield to keep things light and not let people in. He’s got some heavy baggage that he’s holding onto and at points I wasn’t sure if Cassie would be able to work her way fully into his heart. Cassie was so much more than the “vacation fling” girl we were introduced to in the beginning of the book. She’s got a career that poised to take off and she’s got a heart of gold. These two had so many things to work through – from the opening prank to commitment issues - and I just loved watching these to find themselves and then each other as they finally realized what their relationship was. My favorite part of this book was Cassie’s friends that she traveled with. They were so much fun and had me wishing I could join the group and have some adventures with them. They always had each other’s backs and I loved how they encouraged Cassie when she needed a push to let herself go and have some fun. Their antics when it came to the opposite sex had me laughing out loud, and Sadie and Ana were such a hoot! And Logan’s friend Theo was such a great wingman – and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for him and Cassie’s best friend Bonnie in the next book. With a well-developed plot and some really great characters that worked together to tell Logan and Cassie’s story, I am very impressed with this author’s debut! There were a couple of spots that did slow down just a bit for me since there was a bit of world-building that needed to happen to set up the next books in the series, but overall this was a well-written book that was light and fun but also had moments that had me feeling some serious emotions right along with the characters. This is definitely one to add to your TBR shelf!
