    Getting Inside

Getting Inside is a solid start to what looks to be an awesome series. The heroine, Iona is the first female coach of the PFL and as with firsts in anything the pressure to succeed is always that much higher because you're in essence paving the way for others to follow. I think the author did a great job in conveying what it's like to be the only female in a male dominated sport from the stupid questions they get asked in interviews to the sexist comments to you name it. I loved the way the author tackled how female athletes bodies are viewed and the stereotypes that go with them and the way she shattered those stereotypes. I also loved watching the romance develop between Iona and Ty. All in all Getting Inside is an enjoyable read that I'd definitely recommend. ARC provided by publisher through Net Galley

    OK read

I really wanted to love this one but it turned out to only be an ok read for me. The storyline is intriguing but alas, also a bit cliche - first female pro football coach Iona Thomas who, although she knows everyone in the sports world is watching her, gives in to the strong attraction between herself and star linebacker Ty Williams. The writing is good and the characters enjoyable however the story is very predictable.

    Absorbing & Entertaining!

Iona's a woman who loves football. She's played, coached and has earned a position as coach of a mens pro football team! Her success has come at a cost. Her feminine self esteem has been damaged by the men she trusts. The attraction she feels to Ty, a plkayer on the pro football team, can only lead to sex, Iona believes, because she doesn't believe any man can want her... Ty's a powerful player, both on and off the football field. But there are other, personal things, he's kept hidden. He's drawn to Iona, but backs away... Absorbing and entertaining romantic sports start to a new series! Fell in love with the characters and storyline! Hope O, Blake and Zach get their own books, as well as Derek, though he's not a football player. Will enjoy getting inside more of this series! Book free for honest review thru Netgalley and publisher.

I'm not a sports fan but I liked this book a lot!

This story proved to me that you don’t have to be a sports fan to enjoy a sports related romance. While there was quite a bit of football jargon that I didn’t totally understand, the important thing was the story about Iona and Ty and you don’t have to understand all of the jargon to get emotional about their relationship or dilemma. Iona has worked hard to get where she is in the world of professional football. Working for the Seattle Grizzlies is the break she’s been waiting for and she won’t let anything stand in her way. Ty has faced a lot of loss in his life; as a result, he has kept himself pretty much emotionally unavailable but there’s something about Iona he can’t seem to resist even though he knows he should. This story grabbed me nearly from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down once I started reading it. It’s a lot more complicated than just the relationship between Iona and Ty. They both have things from their past that are still affecting their feelings and actions. Ms. Bell’s writing just seemed to flow and even though first person stories aren’t my favorite this one worked for me. I liked that the chapters alternated between Ty and Iona telling the story. Not only did this book tug on all of my emotions it was also HOT! It wasn’t just in the bedroom scenes either. The sparks were flying on and off the field and “hearing” their internal dialogue about those encounters was fun. Getting Inside is a great start to a new series. There is a rich cast of secondary characters and a good setup for additional books. I look forward to reading more about the Grizzlies. A review copy was provided by the publisher via NetGalley but this did not influence my opinion of the book or my review. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions***

Great start to this new football romance series!

Getting inside is the first sports romance written by this author, and she’s done a great job of detailing what happens on and off the football field. With an african american female coach of a professional football league team, she tackles innate prejudices against both a female and colored woman in a role normally relegated to men but still shows Iona’s softer and more feminine side. Ty is a team player in all senses of the word, concerned with his offensive teammates and how they are relating to their new coach – and is quick to realize that his own feelings about her are getting pretty complicated. I loved seeing the viewpoints of both characters and look forward to reading more of the series.
