  • A sweet and hot story.

I enjoyed reading this story about a sweet guy from Costa Rica and a former Navy many who’s still mostly in the closet. The blurb describes Gideon as a handyman but he’s really a lot more than that. He’s living in LA in his deceased grandmother’s house temporarily while he fixes it up so his parents can continue renting it out for additional income. Gideon has been sick and hasn’t wanted tell his family back in Costa Rica. He’s much better now and is working hard to finish up the work on the house. Isaiah is fresh out of the Navy and will start at the Police Academy soon. He’s anxious to complete his training and get back to working a job. He’s temporarily living with his mother who lives next to Gideon. His mother considers herself a great matchmaker, with several matches under her belt, and she’s trying to get Gideon and Isaiah together. But Isaiah isn’t exactly out and he has a bit of trouble adjusting to the fact that he really doesn’t need to hide who he is now that he’s out of the military. There’s a spark between Gideon and Isaiah right from the beginning but neither of them is looking for a relationship. As they become closer, Gideon knows that he’s going to have to tell Isaiah his secret but he’s afraid that when he does Isaiah won’t want to have anything more to do with him. One of the biggest problems for Gideon and Isaiah’s relationship is that Gideon is expected to return to Costa Rica to help with the family business. Gideon doesn’t want to take over the family business but feels he has no choice since his brother has already stated his intention to move away. In addition to the abundance of hot and sexy time, Gideon’s Wish touched on a lot of deep and serious topics. It touched on racial issues and prejudices as well as sexual prejudices; Bryan Clark handled these topics with great care. A copy of this book was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com***
