    Beautifully Written

This will be my most inspirational classics of all time. I'm most attached to this book and still feel the loss of the original copy that my dad gave me. He made me byheart these poems when i was in Class IV Std. I still remember some of them. Well, I've bought another copy of it. My all time fav is 'Where the mind is without fear.."

    Poetic is not descriptive enough,

Finished. Wonderful, poetic, imaginative are just a few words to describe Tagore's work. I don't know of any other way to describe it, so I'll just let Tagore speak for Tagore's self, On the seashore of endless worlds children meet. The infinite sky is motionless overhead and the restless water is boisterous. On the seashore of endless worlds children meet with shouts and dances They build their houses with sand and they play with empty shells. With withered leaves they weave their boats and smilingly float them on the vast deep. Children have their play on the seashore of worlds. They know not hos to swim, they know not how to cast nets. Pearl fishers dive for pearls, merchants sail in their ships, while children gather pebbles and scatter them again. They seek not for hidden treasures, they know not how to cast nets.

    RT the Best

Rabindranath Tagore was certainly a master. His love for nature and his philosophy for God, sunlight, life, flowers, death among others is beautifully painted through his poems. A calmness spreads over you, a silence where you can actually feel the tree beside your window sing through its leaves, the song of nature. Loved the book so much that would read it again just to feel the bliss again.

    One of My Favorite

In the end everything he writes is devoted to Krishna. His writings are full of zen and beautiful metaphors. My favourite part is as follows: "The traveller has to knock at every alien door to come to his own, and one has to wander through all the outer worlds to reach the innermost shrine at the end."

    A Masterpiece!!!!!

Gitanjali is truly a masterpiece. Rabindranath Tagore has written poems that will truly leave an indelible mark on your soul. Spiritually rich and emotionally stirring poetry. A wonderful read and the noble award acceptance speech included along with gives a brilliant insight into the great poet's vision for a better world and humanity. Must read for those who appreciate beautiful soulful poetry.
