    Amazing!

When you think you have read the best book by Louise Penny, she comes right back with another amazing book - I didn't want it to end and can't wait for the next book! Bravo!

    Glass Houses

Wonderful. It makes me sad when I reach the end of one of Louise Penny's books. Great story, and I love being in touch with all the characters that live in Three Pines.,even Rosa the duck.

    Exceptionally Terrific!

Louise Penny utilizes a different device in this, the 13th of her Inspector Gamache series. There is a murder and during the trial, Gamache (who is now head of the entire Surete and was the arresting officer in the murder) is in the hot seat for several days. The story of how this trial came to be, and a simultaneous unfolding of a major crimes counter-move are revealed as elaborations on Gamache's responses to the Crown Prosecutor. I loved how this was written, and I was mesmerized by the story. Each book in this series is a page turner, and the relationships between people in the village of Three Pines become more evolved and involved with each story. This is my favorite one so far and that's saying a lot as I have loved them all!

    Awesome

While I do not care for books that go back and forth in time as a rule, Louise Penny does so seamlessly. The plot twists are clever and informative. I love these characters and am grateful as always to spend time with them. Ms. Penny always has her finger on the pulse of today's headlines but the reality of those are interwoven with the wonderful world of fictional Three Pines. Thank you.

    Glass Houses is Fantastic

This the best book yet, in the Gamache series. A cleverly crafted book. The depth of the characters, the timelines of the story, the page turning plot, and the lovely fluid writing all combine to create an explosive ending. A tue de force, that should this be the end of the series, is a shining crown on a fabulous writing career. But, please Louise, keep writing. I grew up in Knowlton and each of your books is a welcome visit home to the Townships. And, I do not even have to risk life and limb crossing the Champlain Bridge!
