    Amazing!

Just a stunning piece of literature. One of those books everyone should read. Very insightful, a book that makes you a better more open and understanding person having read it.

    Golden Boy

Enjoyable and thought provoking. The issue of gender identification was addressed in a sensitive manner. Idid feel that I wanted to know more about what happened to Hunter. At the end I felt somewhat ambivalent towards Hunter. His actions were so oblivious wrong and cruel. Yet at the same time I think he did love Max. He was just as confused in regards to the whole issue of gender and attraction to another. I was left with the question in my mind was Hunter attracted to males or females, or was his love a product of their life long association. I think there was also a part of Max that loved the Hunter he knew when they were young boys.

This is a gob-smacking, can't put down read. Dealing with a subject barely touched in fiction writing, it is a no-holds barred story of what it must be like to fall between two stones as an intersex person. It is so grimly, believably written, yet escapes pathos. There can be no totally happy ending in a tale like this, but it educates the reader, affecting their deepest emotions, with a twist that keeps the pages turning!
