    Gone Too Deep

What a good read. Such a lot going on and I just loved the inexperienced George which is a new take on relationships. Murder and mayhem and boy I did not see that culprit coming.

    Gone Too Deep

This is the type of novel that when you start reading it you can’t stop. It led to some very rewarding, yet sleepless, nights. I love how this story ties into the series as a whole yet also stands out on its own. Ruggle has woven an absolutely unforgettable tale that had me on pins and needles throughout. The plot was intense and well crafted. The suspense permeated every page yet never overshadowed the romance and chemistry that we find between the main characters. I loved the differences between our hero and heroine and how they seem to balance one another. The strong, silent, and drool-worthyness of George had me swooning while Ellie’s bubbly, caring nature shook things up. The way that they were able to seamlessly work together made the story even better. Oh, and their chemistry? Something we’d all kill for in our everyday lives, yet also very believable. And you can’t forget the supporting cast. Lou is still priceless. Everyone that you meet (or reencounter from past novels) becomes a fast friend. This story was excitingly suspenseful. It was everything that a romantic suspense should be. Ruggle is quickly becoming a go-to for romantic suspense. George Holloway is a socially awkward loner, but he’s the best survival expert that Search and Rescue has. He doesn’t want to take city girl Ellie Price into the mountains, but when she looks at him with those big, dark eyes, he can deny her nothing! Ellie is determined to do anything she can to find her father! When desperate times draw them closer, will George and El be able to go their separate ways when this is all over?

    Suspenseful

The heroines and the mystery/suspense arc have been the most enjoyable part of this series for me and I could not believe where this book ended! A cliffhanger? I kept tapping my tablet hoping for more pages and I have to say that waiting for the next book was one of my worst experiences. That said, kudos to Ms. Ruggle for another winning addition to the series. GONE TOO DEEP is a suspenseful, exciting, heart-pounding nail-biter all the way to the surprising end, lightened only by the sweet romance playing out between the main characters and catching up with other characters from previous books. Ellie is another heroine I love because of her sunny, optimistic personality but George on the other hand was my least favorite male. I get a person being taciturn, reserved and quiet, but I don't get almost mute, barely speaking by choice. Their pairing didn't really work for me (maybe I'm biased because of the previous couples) because Ellie and George are opposites in every way that counts: she is friendly and outgoing while he's not, she is a city girl through and through and George can barely stand to leave his mountains, but somehow it works for them. That said, there was a lot to like about them and their unfolding romance brought some much needed lightness to the story. The thrill for me about this book was the suspense. Each book so far has brought us closer to solving the mystery from the first book and GONE TOO DEEP brings us almost all the way to the end but for every answer, we get a new question. Ellie is determined to find her father and all she needs is George's expertise on the trail but it may not be as easy as expected because someone is just as determined that the reunion between father and daughter will be a short one. From the predators on the trail, both of the human and four-legged variety to the bad weather, Ellie and George's trip is a grueling, dangerous and intense one. And a fascinating one, too. This is a thrilling installment and is a must-read. However, at this point in the series I highly recommend reading it in order.
