For Those Who Want To Lighten Their Load

Although the minimalist lifestyle is not for everyone, this is one of the most incisive and accessible books I've read on the subject. Sasaki uses his own life as an example of how the precepts of minimalism can improve your day to day existence. His personal approach is quite ascetic; but as he points out in his book, minimalism is different for everyone. Having personally begun the process of decluttering and reducing what I have around me, I can attest to the benefits that are outlined in this book. I especially appreciated the author's honesty about his own life and how to find real meaning - not through objects - but in your experiences. The idea that half of what we own is to project what we want others to think of us was enlightening.
