  • Keeping secrets, trying to protect one another

Grady has been seeing Ben. When they are together, everything is great and he's already fallen for that guy. The problem is that, for some reason, Ben doesn't want anyone to know they are dating. As usual, this story is told from the POV of both main characters... so as the reader you know much more than each of them. Ben has a big secret.. and it's that someone has been sending him threatening letters. Most of the trouble comes because these two men can't seem to communicate with one another. They seem to bottle things up a bit. Ben, in particular, has a lot of stuff in his background that he hasn't told Grady about. When Grady sees Ben out on a double date... he reaches his limit. He goes to visit his best friend... leaving Ben to mull over what he's done. I don't want to give away the details of the conflict in this one - it's a pretty decent plot and I don't want to ruin it. Suffice to say... when Grady finally returns to Brighton with his friend Tristan... things are tricky! One of the themes in this particular installment of the Boys of Brighton series is care-taking and feeling protective of those you love. As a police officer, Grady feels as though he should be able to protect Ben. Ben is used to taking care of himself. He's a firefight and already deals with his brother Bo and the rest of the Mason family watching over him. There's a real push and pull between these two as they struggle to find a medium ground upon which they might both be able to take care of each other. The danger escalates about halfway through this novella at which point the Sentinals get involved. As always this book has some great sex scenes and a lot of action despite its short length. There are a lot of characters in these stories so it probably makes the most sense to read them one right after the other. I think if I waited too long in between I would have trouble remembering what had happened to all the characters.

  • Danger Lurks as Their Romance is on the Rocks

As we reach book seven, this is the story of Grady Reynolds and Ben Mason. With a firefighter and a police offer, one would think these two had better communication, but no, not at all. Turns out, keeping your relationship on the DL, can be a disaster waiting to happen. Despite being head over heels for the Grady, Ben can't seem to open up and tell him the truth. Risk losing the one you love or be honest and risk uncertain danger. Soon, neither of them will have a choice. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • The Boys of Brighton are Back at it Again!

Book 7 from M. Tasia’s Boys of Brighton series of steamy M/M romance novellas is another winner! In “Grady,” we catch up with Bo’s brother, Ben Mason, a sexy-as-sin firefighter who has been a presence throughout the series. He’s hiding a dangerous secret in addition to the feelings he has for the new cop in town. Grady is gorgeous and damaged, having lost his whole family when he came out. He finds an opportunity to begin a new life enveloped in the acceptance of the Brighton community, and he soon loses his heart to Ben as well. These two have to fight HARD for their chance at happiness, and the HEA they so desperately want is neither easily-won nor guaranteed. As always, I am awed by the sense of family infused in each of these books, and I enjoy “catching up” with the previous characters in the series. With action, drama, aww moments, super-steamy love connections, and a handsy blind date in the mix, this is such a wonderfully entertaining read.

  • Hot and Hotter

Each book just keeps better and better! And I am falling in love with each of these characters as we get to know each one in their own way. However, right now, I think that out of all the couples, the communication between Ben and Grady was the worst. Without giving too much away, things could have been avoided if the communication had been better. But I get why things were done the way they were. Ben is a firefighter who hasn’t been in a relationship in over 3 years. He had his heart broken and wasn’t sure he wanted to go through that again. Grady is a police officer who moved to Brighton to get away from his family who pretty much disowned him after he came out. When Ben and Grady met, it was an instant attraction, however, Ben wanted to keep things on the downlow – that was the only way they could ever have any type of contact. This began to bug Grady and he kept telling himself, no more. But the heart wants what the heart wants. Due to circumstances beyond his control, Ben wants to come clean with Grady, but doesn’t want to put him in any jeopardy. When push comes to shove and the secrets come out, there isn’t anything that can keep Ben and Grady apart. Once again, another great story and I just love how M Tasia is able to bring to light just some of the troubles we have in today’s world. The passion and love between these characters is something that everyone wishes they can find, but is not always lucky to find it. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series and see what happens with Grady’s friend Tristan and Vincent! • Action packed mm romance

There is quite a bit more action in this book from The Boys of Brighton series with Ben being sent threatening notes. This book starts out fast and just keeps going as more is revealed and it ends with a real bang. The relationship between the two main characters Ben and Grady starts out shaky but firms up as they try to find out who doesn’t want them to be together. I will warn you that there are a some real surprises in this book. A great action packed read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
