  • Honoring Phillip with love

Although I know book 10 is about to be released, GUARDING YOUR HEART seems like the natural conclusion to the series and I, for one, am sorry to say goodbye to the Baytown Boys and their wonderful community. This book is bittersweet, beginning as it does with the events that led to Sophie feeling unable to live in Baytown. Her brother Phillip who fell in service has been a part of every book in this series and even more so in Katelyn's book, but having the events of his childhood and his graveside service described at the beginning of this book was both poignant and bittersweet. Sophie and Callan's reconnection was meant to be. That he was the only one of the Baytown Boys still in service was mentioned in every book so it is only fitting that the important decisions he has to make about separation mean that he is the last of the Baytown Boys to really come home. And if like me you'll cry while reading about Phillip's service, then the ending will really pull tears as well. Finally, there's the American Legion and the Auxiliary. Ms Jordan has done a magnificent job of honoring them and the service they continue to give through every one of these books. Now I know Jason's book will hit my Kobo in the next day or two but I can't help wondering if Scott will get his own book as well. There are no hints on Ms Jordan's website but we can only hope because I'm certainly not ready to say goodbye to this amazing group of men and women and their tightknit community.

    Thanks for your feedback!
