    Huh?

Kobo lost my detailed review, so let sum it up-- I love Smith's books. Saving Grace is my fave. But Guests needed a good editor to help her write something she usually does brilliantly: craft a commensurate ending. She waved the pistol in the first pages, but when she fired it at the end, it was loaded with blanks.

Aptly written- does not deliver on

A somewhat surreal account of one (fictional) woman's life at Asheville's Highland Hospital. I heard about this book on NPR and read it on the premise of the subject matter being Zelda Fitzgerald and the hospital fire. That is definitely not what this book is about. But I think if you go into it with no assumptions, you might be able to enjoy the book more than I did.

    Reccomeding to everyone

I am telling everyone i know to read this one. The mc's eperiences were very intereting and the characters surrounding her equally as compelling.

    Guests on Earth

Good book but ends too abruptly. Like the characters.

    Guests on Earth

Very interesting read. The author has woven together a very believable account of life in an asylum. The patients seem almost "too normal" at times. The ending was a surprise.
