    Hannibal enemy of Rome

I thoroughly enjoyed this book , it was in the same stylised historically correct fashion as Conn Iggulden whom I also enjoyed reading , it was very hard to put down and the characters were easily pictured in my mind through their thoughtful descriptions, an easy read.

    Hanibal enemy of Rome

The book is slow to start but then moves along at a good pace . Very interesting and good on Historical content. I am reading the next in line now.

    Excellent book

I picked this up having read Ben Kane two-volume Spartacus series, so I had high expectations for this first book in Kane's Hannibal series. Sufice it to say, I was not disappointed! I look forward to reading Fields of Blood. For anybody who enjoys fast-paced historical fiction, I heartilly recommend this series. The author's meticulous attention to details of daily life in ancient Rome, his vivid and harrowing depiction of Hannibal's army's crossing of the alps, and the generally solidly fleshed out characters (both Carthaginian and Roman) were among the numerous high-points for me. And the battle segments, of course, were great.

    Excellent Read!

I loved the building of the characters in this first book of the Hannibal series. Ben Kane's depiction of life in the early days of the republic are accurate and well researched. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. Well done Mr. Kane!
