    Breathtaking, Emotional, & Sizzling Romance!

I was totally consumed by this breathtaking, emotional, and sizzling second chance romance. This journey through love, loss, hope, and healing will have you in tears of heartbreak and joy! Hunter is the captain of his hockey team on the road to winning the cup and achieving personal goals. But he has demons that he keeps hidden and the pressure he's experiencing is soul crushing. Dekker is a sports agent working for her father and sisters in their family business. They need to make some changes and scoring Hunter as a client would be huge. Her father sends Dekker on a scouting and recruiting mission, not knowing that Dekker and Hunter had a passionate affair 3 years ago that ended in heartbreak. Traveling with the team puts Dekker and Hunter in close contact, bringing back long buried feelings and blurring professional lines. They both have tragic pasts that keep their hearts guarded, not willing to open up to more pain. They both are so blinded by what they believe as truth, they miss the love around them. But their souls cry out to each other, they see what others miss and provide a comfort and strength no one else can provide. I felt their pain so strongly, that there were moments that I wanted to put the book down and cry for them, but then I couldn't stop reading. I loved both Hunter and Dekker, they felt real and authentic and their relationship was so raw, poignant, and hard fought. They were so perfect for each other and their chemistry was palpable. I love that Ms Bromberg did not cut corners but allowed us to feel every thought, and emotion that Hunter and Dekker experienced. Her writing is so beautiful, and moving, and the banter and levity between her characters makes them feel genuine and easy to relate to. I loved everything about this mesmerizing story of hope, second chances, forgiveness and unconditional love. What a great start to this new 'Play Hard' series of standalone stories! I can't wait to read more about Dekker's sister's next!

    A deeply emotional sports romance

5 STARS Wow! This book! Loved it. It was so much more than I was expecting. This book has two of my favourite things, hockey and second chance romance. What I didn’t expect was all the feels. I wasn’t ready for this deep emotional roller coaster these characters would go through and a love story so real and raw. This book is everything! K. Bromberg’s writing is everything I love. Descriptive with well developed, relatable characters and a storyline that keeps me engaged and turning the pages. Dekker is one of four daughters that works for Kincade Sports Management. She is sent by her Dad to sign hockey legend Hunter Maddox. She is well aware of their history and refuses to let her heart get involved. Dekker has some thick skin! She is a strong woman that won’t let love and her past feelings for Hunter get in the way of business. She puts up a good fight but eventually passion, love and a heartbreakingly beautiful connection between these two wins out in the end. Hunter is a hockey player who has been through a lot. He is working through his issues but is struggling on the ice and off of it. He is a cocky, flirty flawed man with some emotional scars holding him back. K. Bromberg has written a fantastic first book in the Play Hard Series with all the heart, heat and emotion I’ve come to love out of her books. I am looking forward to the rest of the Kincade sisters in their books to come. *ARC received in exchange of an honest review.

I fell head over heels with all his Witty Oneliners, Mad Hockey Skills, Charm and god all his broken pieces! He had completely met his match in Dekker Kincade. Shes feisty, witty and doesnt put up suth nonsense! It's one of those books that stay with you. Even when you finish you cant let it go. They become part of you in all the best ways. I cannot wait to see what Kincade sister is next, they are going to be fun!!! ONECLICK EVERYTIME!

A fantastic start to the Play Hard series!

4.5 STARS NO SPOILERS! Hard to Handle was a sweet, sexy, swoon-worthy, emotional, and entertaining standalone enemies-to-lovers, second chance sports romance, as well as a fantastic start to the Play Hard series! I really enjoyed the storyline, and I loved K. Bromberg’s prose. She took me on a romantic yet tragic journey in Hard to Handle, and it was very unexpected in a lot of ways. Hunter and Dekker, mainly Hunter, had a lot to deal with and work through, and it was pretty difficult and frustrating at times. I’ll admit, there were some aspects that I didn’t care for, but others made up for them in a big way, especially the last several chapters. Hunter and Dekker’s story was heartbreaking and emotional, but incredibly beautiful and heartwarming at the same time. It was a must read romance from K. Bromberg, and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more about Dekker’s sisters in the books to come. The characters were wonderful. I truly loved Hunter and Dekker. They were far from perfect and had their flaws (as we all do), but I loved their personalities, even though they were sometimes extremely stubborn and argumentative. Hunter and Dekker had fiery chemistry together, and I enjoyed most of their banter and interactions with each other. Sometimes Hunter and Dekker’s conversations/arguments were repetitive, which got a little annoying after a while, but luckily I enjoyed how their relationship progressed throughout, and I was especially elated with the conclusion. Hard to Handle was a must read standalone enemies-to-lovers, second chance sports romance, and a fabulous way to kick off the Play Hard series of interconnected standalones. I loved Hunter and Dekker’s sweet, sexy, emotional, swoon-worthy, and entertaining second chance love story, and I can’t wait to see what K. Bromberg has in store for the rest of the Play Hard series!
