    Haunted Destiny

Jude McCoy has been assigned to work with Jackson Crow on the Archangel serial Killer case when they are led to board a cruise ship but the case becomes a bit complicated when a victim’s ghost appears to Jude and a ship entertainer, Alexi Cromwell in this spine tingling paranormal suspense. With so many suspects, Jude and Alexi will have to rely on each other to catch the killer and escape his evil plans for Alexi and the reader can’t help but get chills and become caught up in the suspense as Jude discovers that Alexi can see ghosts and what’s more…so can he. The romance in the story is sizzling and sweet as both Jude and Alexi have haunting pasts that has them remaining aloof and protecting their hearts which has emotional turmoil adding depth to these strong, captivating characters in this fast paced and smooth flowing plot that thrills readers with suspense and romance. The story starts off with quite a bit of excitement as Jude and Jackson chase a suspect on board a cruise ship and from there the story only gets more thrilling with ghosts popping in and out, doing their best to help and the killer managing to stay one step ahead of them all. The case is also hampered by being aboard a cruise ship and trying to avoid panic among the passengers while a deadly hurricane bearing down on the ship adds to the chaos. Once again, Heather Graham provided lots of stunning and vivid details that bring the story to life and makes it so easy for the reader to become ensnared by her spine tingling suspense. Another exhilarating experience with the Krewe of Hunters, especially as Jude and Alexi’s story is full of unexpected twists, interesting characters and a fantastic setting that adds to the case with some different complications and as usual, I can’t wait to join the Krewe for their next case.

    3,5***

Every moment in the story reminds me of Agatha Christie books and Hercule Poirot character stories, where he would solve crimes on the cruise ships. The book has a cozy mystery vibe through it, with easy going, friendly cast of characters, and cruise ship in a world of trouble. I have read several of the Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunters series stories, and this was very different from the rest I have read. It was missing the constant action, sharp edges in the story, and turbulent emotions. The cruise ship environment is restricted, to the action, cast of characters, possibilities to investigate, and when the storm hinders the connection to the mainland, the agents have to use the old fashion way to investigate the murders. There's a lot of attention paid to the living and entertaining on the cruise ship. If this is not in your interest, it might get little repetitive. The characters talk in an old fashion, and rigid way, making it sound even more like a story from the other era. Jackson is a true gentleman, and fighting against his ability to be able to communicate with the death. Alexi, who has accepted her ability as a gift, is helping him, and in the process falling for him while on the story seas. The emotions between them fell a flat for me, yes, there was an attraction, but I couldn't connect the deeper emotions between them, or with them, at any level. I've liked the little ghost appearances in the past stories of the series, gives them a little extra spice. In this story they are actual, active characters of the story, and part of the investigation more than in the stories I have read before. Obviously, this wasn't my favorite Krewe of Hunters story. It is a cozy mystery, that manages to keep the suspect conjecture for a long time. ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

    Haunted Destiny

A great read from start to Finish! Heather Graham is one of my favorite authors, and I love catching up with "old friends" like Jackson Crow and Angela Hawkins.

    Haunted Destiny

Another page turner! I can't get enough of her books! I have to admit I was skeptical about the setting and how it would keep the suspense going but I should have known that Heather would deliver yet again!
