    Let Love Win

“Bow to your broken heart in gratitude, for if it hadn’t shattered so loudly and violently, you would never started on this path to your soul awakening.” -Vishnu Have Mercy is not for the faint of heart. There are some gut wrenching and maddening events that happen in Jenna and Jamie’s story. Almost immediately after beginning their tale Mrs. Henderson throws a curve ball and it blew my mind. I had to stop and digest what had happened. There was so much emotion in the depths of these pages and I definitely felt them. Jamie was a good character but he wasn’t my favorite. That would be Jenna. Her character is strong and resilient. She’s a fighter and survivor. After being broken and having her soul shatter she gets up and uses her experience to make a difference. I really felt that Mrs. Henderson did an amazing job taking such a tragic and ugly story and weaving it into something of beauty. Taking us on a journey through heartbreak, sorrow, forgiveness, love and redemption.

    Wowza! What an intense ride!

Let me start by saying holy wowza! This was all kinds of intenseness! You have the story in the present, seeing how our main peeps are now. You also get the story from the past, and that’s when you start getting gutted a bit, when you see what happened and what they went through, the ripple down effect, and how it affects the present day. These characters were amazing. Jenna is the epitome of strength and survival and courage, having literally been to hell & back & coming out on the other side. Brandon & Danny I totally loved, each for their own personalities. Jamie, I felt for him, and I wanted to smack him. It was always 50/50 there with him lol. Plus all the others (and a true evil that you wish you could reach through and throat punch yourself). I had a feeling this would tear me apart, I only hoped it would put me back together before I hit The End. And it did. Definitely worth the read!!

    The heart doesn't play fair

"The heart doesn't play fair. It doesn't see logic, or what's good or bad for you." Have Mercy was my introduction to N.E. Henderson. After reading the synopsis I was beyond intrigued and couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I must say, I was not disappointed and the author has a new fan. This story is a mind-bender for sure. Whatever you go in expecting, that's not what you're going to get. You'll get so much more. This story challenged me. It made me think outside the box and forced me to put myself into the minds and hearts of the characters. I wanted to rage and refuse to forgive. I wanted to grab my shovel and solve everyone's problems, at least the biggest one. I wanted to rewind the clock and spare them the pain they suffered. I wanted to yell secrets that were divulged to me through the multiple POV's, but they were trapped in a vault that I couldn't pry open. As I experienced the events that took place in the lives of the characters written with alternating past/present chapters I became so invested that my heart hurt. Sometimes I saw the result before I went back for clarification, and other times I saw it coming and wanted to cover my eyes. As I write this review everything is still playing through my mind on a reel like an old-school movie, I can hear the static and see the jittering screen on the wall. This one will stick with me for a while. Well done, N.E. Henderson, prepare to be stalked. The line forms here...
