  • Loved

Loved this book, very independent Jessie meets former Green Beret, Asher while doing physical therapy on her broken leg. A friendship develops with their mutual love of animals. Jessie rescues mustangs and Asher runs a foundation of rescue animals for veterans. The friendship develops into much more but Asher id hiding something from Jessie and will it break or make them? Loved these characters, they are so much alike. Both are strong willed and independent. Great sexual chemistry between them. I loved the animals. This is the fourth book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I am loving this town of Last Stand.

  • Sweet

Heart of the Texas Warrior by Eve Gaddy is book number four in the Heart of Texas series. This is Jessie McBride and Asher Chapman’s story. Asher was a really good guy. He had so many issues that he needed to work through. He was always ready to provide assistance and help to others but didn’t always do what was best for him. Jessie had her own issues to work through too. This was a sweet and tender story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

  • A sweet romance

This is a book that draws you in there is so much emotion and angst without it been over the top and driving you away The book flows well and keeps you engaged until the very last page. While this is the fourth book in the series it is a total stand alone as each book is a about separate couple with only overlapping characters in it I had no trouble following the story even though I hadn't read the previous books Jessie McBride is the youngest of four siblings and the only girl she is totally involved in the breaking and raising of mustangs on her family ranch so when she breaks her leg she becomes grumpy and frustrated at not been able to do the work she loves. When she is sent for physical therapy for her leg she meets Asher He is a returned vet who is also going through therapy for his injuries but he has injuries much deeper than the physical ones on show and not all are related to his military service . He works connecting veterans with animal companions. The attraction between them is off the charts but can she break down the walls he has placed around himself and will he ever stop the drawing her to him then pushing her away. Can they have a future together You will have to read to see.

  • Loved it

I really enjoyed this book & wish it had been a little longer, I didn’t want it to end. I’m hoping this won’t be the last book of the series, that maybe we might see one more so we can catch up with everyone. This book had my heart breaking for both Asher & Jessie. An accident brought them together, but an injury might just keep them apart. Strong & stubborn would best describe both Jessie & Asher, as well as sexy, smart, determined & loving. We get to see just how strong each of them are as they each deal with problems as they begin their relationship. I loved that they both rescued animals, Asher dogs, cats & others, while Jessie rescued mustangs & tried to give them better lives. Author Eve Gaddy has done a wonderful job on this book. Would definitely recommend it, as well as the series. I received this book from the author for an honest review.

  • Wonderful Characters

Texas Heart of the Texas Warrior, Heart of Texas 4 is a blending of Last Stand, Texas and Whiskey River, Texas with a main character from each place. Then Eve Gaddy has not given the reader one warrior but two. Jessie McBride may have never served in the military like retired Green Beret Asher Chapman but she is still a force to be reckoned with. Two strong but idealistic people who meet with an instant attraction. The interactions between these two were so much fun to read. Asher has his own battles that he is still fighting but manages Jessie’s grumpy determination with grace and humor. Their values, desire to make a difference in the world one horse or other animals at a time along with one hurting vet is nothing short of inspirational. Such wonderful characters that you want to get the best out of life which would be a loving life together. An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
