    Fantastic read

Rachel Blaufeld is a new to me author. The blurb caught my attention and a friend of mine has raved about this author so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm glad that I did! Heart Stronger pulled at my emotions from the start and never let go. Claire broke my heart. I sympathized with her very much, even when I wanted her to go out and BE again. She's closed off, but it's logical to her. She's guarding her heart against more heartache-and she's definitely endured her fair share. She comes so far in this book and I really applaud that. This is a character who was written like a real person-she's not perfect. This is definitely someone who I would try to be friends with. Aiken. Well, Aiken is just a darn good book boyfriend. Sweet, sexy and determined. Now, he has some issues of his own he's working through, but watching him help Claire was immensely satisfying. He's a man who knows what he's after and I liked seeing him get there. I really liked him. There is chemistry here without a doubt. There's a good amount of push/pull with Claire being so reluctant but it works for them and it just makes it even sexier when they're together. I liked seeing them together and watching them become a team. The story line of this book had some heavier moments than I anticipated. Some twists I definitely didn't see coming-but they worked. Overall the pacing was good and the writing? Well, the writing was great. I felt pulled into the story from the beginning and that feeling stayed with me throughout the book. I'll definitely be checking out other books by this author and recommend this book.

    Enraptured by these two

I get so excited when Rachel announces a new book! She is most definitely an auto-buy/auto-read author of mine. Heart Stronger is a little different than any other book Rachel has written, in my opinion. I love it when authors change things up with their books. I also believe to keep my review a bit vague as some things happen in this book that I think needs to be learned first-hand. Claire and Aiken’s story is a beautiful one. They’ve both suffered in the past and are left with questions that they are seeking answers for. Reading about what Claire has been through is heavy on my mind. Both major events are a fear of mine and I have major empathy for her. But meeting a younger man, like Aiken - to me - makes the hurt a little easier to cope with. Rachel’s writing has always captivated me. She has a way to suck you into her characters’ lives and emotions so fully that you can’t put the book down. I finished this book in under a day because I was so enraptured with Claire and Aiken, with their pain, with their relationship, and with Smitty. I will say that I was slightly confused with the ending of the epilogue. Are we getting a second book? I felt that the epilogue left us with more questions - just not with Claire and Aiken. I received an advanced copy of this book and VOLUNTARILY decided to review it

    Pulls an emotional punch

Heart Stronger is my first novel by author Rachel Blaufeld, it’s a tough, second chance at love romance filled to the brim with raw, gritty emotions. It features Claire Richards, and her much younger beau, Aiken. Claire is a college professor and Aitken her new neighbor who falls in love with her. Claire is divorced and has a painful past that is holding her back. She believes she’s to blame for what happened and doesn’t deserve to be happy again. She teaches psychology could never delves into her own mind until Aiken arrives. He pushes her to ‘be’ more. To want more and even though she’s scared. This story is just filled with every emotion under the sun. I’ve laughed, cried, wanted to pull my hair out in frustration I got so angry with the characters at times. But… well. What’s a little pain between you and your kindle, huh? I heartily recommend this book. But make sure you have a stiff drink and some tissues to hand while you read it.
