    Great romantic suspense!

This is the first Harlequin Romantic Suspense book I’ve read by Elle James although I’ve read and reviewed many of her other books. Heir to Murder is the fourth and final book in the Adair Affair continuity series for Harlequin Romantic Suspense. When I found this out I almost declined to read and review the ARC I was offered by the author. Since I hadn’t read the other stories in this series I was afraid that I would be lost and feel like I missed too much by starting at the end, so to speak. I should not have worried, and I’m glad that I accepted the ARC. This book does a great job of filling you in on the information you need to know from the other books. The story of Hero Noah/Jackson and heroine Rachel is a compelling one filled with twists and turns and hot, sexy time between the H and h. Our Hero was raised Noah Scott by the women he thought was his mother. In fact, he was stolen from his parents as a child and the woman who raised him is actually his aunt. He feels deeply betrayed and is now suspicious of his half brothers and sister, wondering what their motives are for welcoming him into their family. Rachel is his half-sister’s best friend and he has been giving her riding lessons. He is beginning to have more than just friendship feelings for her and she for him. When he finds out that she is already an accomplished rider and that she has actually been spying on him for his half siblings, the feeling of additional betrayal is nearly overwhelming. The story of how they overcome this situation, and help solve the murder of his father, will keep you turning the pages and not want to put the book down. It’s a great story and one I’m glad to have read. Thanks for the ARC, Elle! The opinion expressed is my own and was not influenced by the receipt of the ARC.
