An incredible book...in that the subject and it's characters lack all credibility. You have one character with enormous strength who will willingly suffer unbeiievable pain and death in order to protect tothers, since he will regenerate instantly. Another character would willingly allow hundreds of thousands to die, rather than remove free will from one person. You are expected to believe the Sun can stop, rather than the earth that rotates around it. One third of the book is Sunday School on steroids. If you don't want to spend hours reading about biblical names and occurrences, skip this entire series and read some of Robinson's kaiju books. At least they have some entertainment value. Give this one a hard pass.
