    The gods are Jerks

Hellbent is book two in Tina Glasneck's Hell Chronicles and this book is, for the most part, absolutely fantastic. This book picks up where the first book in the series left off and I absolutely devoured it. Hel has been reunited with her love, Harley, and she is now waiting for the curse to be lifted. But it hasn't been. Turns out Odin doesn't plan on letting her return. Hel isn't going to take this laying down though so she begins to make her own plans to free herself and her siblings. They've been looked down on for too long simply for looking and being different. It's time to end this. This story bounces from various characters but each chapter is marked so you know who the story is following. I must admit that I have never read a lot of stories with the Scandinavian gods but I really and truly dislike Odin the most. LOL! He's so arrogant and such a jerk! I could not stand him for the life of me. Sif gets on my nerves, too because she seems to fail to fully understand certain situations. I like the flow of the story. It is well-paced, engaged and kept me interested. I will say that close to the end is when some hiccups popped up for me. It seemed that the story started to skip around a bit. Almost like the author lost focus and came back and just decided to start somewhere. It left me confused and I had to backtrack and reread slowly to know whether there was a change in character or something missing. I also didn't like it when Sif and her friends are in a certain situation and she says "I can't help feeling that this is my fault." I literally wanted to yell at her...BECAUSE IT IS!! Because it honestly was. But it's also not long before her friends show their true colors. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I am totally rooting for Lady Hel and I love how well she is written. There are certain dynamics and situations I don't understand, but I'm hoping that it will all come together in the big picture. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

    book 2

I loved the first book in the series and this was is a great continuation and extension of book 1. The characters are fun to read about and the story was fast, action pact, and full of surprises. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Fantastic!!!

I am in love with this series. The mystery and suspense just draws you in. It makes you forget everything and just read this fabulous story. The characters are extremely well developed. I loved Thor and his attitude. Tina Glasneck has picked his attitude just right for how he seems to be. Sif is an amazing lady. She has strength, honor, charm, and love inside of her. This is definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
