Super Fun, Fast, & Sexy Story

I absolutely adore Tiffany Reisz and devour each of her new books as soon as they hit my kindle. Her Halloween Treat is the first Harlequin Blaze book from Ms. Reisz and I have to say she totally hit it out of the park with this story. I loved Joey Silvia pretty much from the moment she hit the page. She has just learned her boyfriend of 2 years was actually married and she is absolutely devastated. I love that her best friend kept telling her to get on a guy to get over her ex-boyfriend. Of course not only is there a super hot handy man available when she gets to her family's cabin, it is none other than Chris Steffensen, who is her brother Dillon’s best friend. I love a story that reconnects old friends and absolutely loved that Joey was Chris's high school crush. I The chemistry between Joey and Chris was ridiculously hot. I mean it was steam up my kindle hot at times. I will admit I found Her Halloween Treat way hotter than other Blazes I've read in the past. I loved the closeness they shared even as Joey was completely honest about the fact that she planned to return to Hawaii after her brother's wedding. I also loved how much they reminisced and laughed about both the past and the present. As Joey had only recently learned about her ex, a man making her laugh was pretty fabulous in my opinion. While the romance between Joey and Chris was amazing, one of my favorite parts of the entire book was Joey's brother's wedding. They had a Halloween wedding with everyone dressed up as characters from 80's movies and tv shows. This is my era and the wedding between Dillon and Oscar had me smiling on every single level. I found Her Halloween Treat to be a super fun, fast, and sexy read. I can't wait to read the next 2 books in the Men at Work series, which luckily enough will be released in October and November. Fans of Tiffany Reisz will be excited to get their next fix from her and new-to-her readers will fall in love with her voice. Rating: 5 Stars (A) Review copy provided by publisher

    Definitely a treat!

Her Halloween Treat is the first of three Harlequin Blaze books in the Men at Work series by Tiffany Reisz. If the next ones in the series are as good as this one, they'll get top billing on my bookshelf as fun, sexy reads starring down to earth blue-collar heroes. Joey just discovered that her boyfriend of two years is married. A trip home for her brother's wedding is the first step in moving on with her life. Se settles into the beloved family cabin, only to discover that it's been beautifully renovated by her brother Dillon’s best friend Chris. Chris is no longer the scrawny, geeky Nirvana loving teenager she knew. Well, he might still love Nirvana but he’s grown into a very handsome, hardworking builder/carpenter/good with his hands kind of guy. And when he offers to put those hands on her, Joey’s not about to say no. She’s had her heart broken once though, and while a sexy fling with Chris might help her heal, she's got no plans to move back to Oregon even if her brother Dillon wants her to consider coming to work for him and his new lake resort business. Can Chris convince her that their newfound relationship is not a trick but a treat that could last a lifetime? This book is really funny. The words that come out of these characters’ mouths made me laugh out loud numerous times. It definitely will be on my list of favourite romantic comedies of 2016. The circumstances of Joey’s breakup are dealt with in a fairly lighthearted vein, and clearly her ex Ben is a jerk. Meeting Chris again, and finding herself attracted to him (and definitely vice versa) is the ego boost Joey needs and a reminder that there are still good guys out there. Chris is a sweetheart of a hero – but he’s also got some sexy alpha male tendencies and puts those to good use with Joey. The result is several super steamy scenes between them. Chris knows Joey’s on the rebound, and that the fling they are having is a short term affair but it doesn’t change his reality – that he was in love with Joey back in high school and he’s falling in love with her all over again. In a way it’s an insta-love story and in a way it’s not. These two have a strong history of friendship and affection even if they haven’t seen each other in years. It’s not surprising that those feelings come to the surface as they interact as adults, and just add to the emotions brought on by their sexual affair. Joey’s new found feelings for Chris get put to the the test as she has to make some decisions about her future. The setting of the story is lovely, a picturesque mountainous area of Oregon that is well described and very enticing. If you are looking for a funny, steamy romance with likable, believable characters, you'll find it with Her Halloween Treat! I look forward to reading more of this series.

    Delicious Treat

This book definitely lives up to the ‘treat’ name. Joey is a fun character. The dialogue between Joey and her best friend Kira is awesome, and Chris and Joey’s banter follows closely on the wonderful scale. I absolutely love Chris. He’s a great guy in every way. There’s plenty of humor and the sexy times are off the charts hot. I highly recommend.

    Her Halloween Treat

This novel is explicitly vivid. Reisz's descriptions pop and truly do the story justice. The spice and chemistry between the characters is unmistakable. I thought that my ereader was going to go up in flames as these two combusted. I loved how the characters had both friendship and chemistry. These weren't two strangers coming together, but rather two individuals with a very close and personal past. I really enjoyed how much we got to know about the characters and their pasts, both their childhoods together and their adult lives apart. This story was hot and fun at the same time! Reisz has definitely created a tale that will keep you warm on those cool winter nights!

Tiffany Reisz - very contemporary romance

Her Halloween Treat is the first installment in Tiffany Reisz’s Men at Work series. This adult contemporary romance features a newly single girl on the rebound, a lumberjack-style hero, and a treat-filled holiday, all in a cozy, remote Oregon setting. Yep…sexy times ahead! There were lots of fun elements I thoroughly enjoyed, such as wild friends, a family business, sexy banter, and flawed characters, all of which added a few layers of laughter and emotion. The characters were all involved in organizing/attending a costumed Halloween-themed wedding which was a pretty original idea I thought. Honestly though, if I wasn't anticipating this book solely because of the author, I wouldn’t have had any idea Tiffany Reisz wrote it. It was fun to read, but I always look forward to Ms. Reisz pushing the envelope in some way but she stayed fairly plain-jane contemporary in this one. It’s all good though. Tiffany Reisz can do no wrong in my opinion so I will read anything she writes…cheesy looking Harlequin romances included. My favorite quote: “You do such good work”. “I hope you’re still saying that an hour from now”. “I was talking about the woodwork”. “That’s one name for it.” Tiffany Reisz’s holiday-themed Men at Work series includes the following installments as of September 2016: #1-Her Halloween Treat (September 2016) #2-Her Naughty Holiday (October 2016) #3-One Hot December (November 2016)
