  • A good story with some unexpected twists

There are several stories (interconnected) running through this book. The main one is the investigation in trying to find the missing child. The background of the mother is the second story. Josie's relation with Noah (and secondarily with Luke) provide a third one. Josie's health (I won't say more because it would be a spoiler) is a forth story here. The recurring characters roles are minor. Trinity appears in several critical places - but she is a secondary character in this book. Misty and Harris are again important to the story but their role is minor. The roles of the police chief is also minor in this story. This book fits well in the Josie Quinn series. Interesting how the main question through this book is "Why?".

  • Detective Josie Quinn at her best.

Detective Josie Quinn is at the playground one day and hears panicked parents screaming that they cannot find their seven-year-old, Lucy Ross. Lucy and her mother are on the merry-go-round, and Lucy's father is off the the side, busy on his cell phone. Josie starts searching right away and quickly spots Lucy's backback, which was described by her frantic mother. Shockingly, there is a message inside of the backpack, and it says for them to answer their phone, or else their daughter might die.. Both Josie and her team, as well as the FBI search high and low for Lucy. With eerie phone calls and tragic murders, hope is something difficult to come by. Will Lucy's parents ever see her again? As things progress, secrets are revealed when it comes to the parents, but there is also something that personally affects Josie. I have read most of the books in this series so I am quite familiar with Josie, her team, and her family. Although they are all in this book, the focus is on the case at hand. So, those who have not read the previous titles should have no problem finding themselves quit engaged in this story. Her Silent Cry was a one-sitting read that kept my interest from the very beginning, and the ending definitely made me catch my breath! I cannot wait to see Josie in action again. Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

  • She was lost but Found

LISA REGAN weaves NOT ONLY A GREAT WHO DONE IT MYSTERY but also has SHARED AN AMAZING FAMILY GROUP. These characters are not blood relatives but are linked together with their caring for each other and the ones they come in contact with. This being book 6 - it can be read as a stand alone but.... Need the previous works to get the full effect of the individual dynamics. Josie is a very savvy detective with an insight that drives the reader to keep the pages turning. Lots of action and suspense is here to enjoy and try to figure out "WHO DID IT?" Hoping that Regan will give a bit more into the lives of her other amazing characters such as Trinity her newly located twin. "A copy of this book was provided by Bookouture via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." TWIST AND TURNS included here.
