  • Couldn't put it down

Carys is one heck of a doctor and she's been through so much. Cullen is a SEAL on a mission to help get American's to safety. These two are thrown together and are working to save a mother and her newborn child. This one pull you in right away and shows you a different side of being a SEAL. I loved Carys and her strength and ability to stay calm when necessary.

  • I Loved It!

Caitlyn has done it again. I loved both of the main characters. Carys commitment as a doctor and her growing love for Cullen. I loved the fact that Cullen did not push Carys into a relationship to quickly. He took his time . Letting Carys get to know him and his love for her.

  • Cullen and Carys, Slow Burning Action Romance💚💙

Chocked full of so much action and all the emotions you can imagine. I loved it all, and sunk right into it at the very first "Oh, for Pete's sake". Like coming home when I read this. The bits of humor, snark and comradery between the characters would just pop up and I would find myself snort laughing anytime, anywhere. Cullen was to die for, so strong, and Carys was just as strong and capable when she needed to be. Sometimes you meet your limits, you have to make a decision to move forward or fall back, and there are some pretty intense situations throughout. My heart was fully engaged and took a beating. The true romancing, when they finally get time for themselves, is worth the wait and gave me that deep, sighworthy HEA, that I need. A stand alone for sure, but there are some much loved, returning characters I was truly happy see again! Total goodness right here

  • Buckle up and hang on tight!

After reading this book I felt like I needed a debriefing and a vacation! The writing is so vivid, so visceral, I felt like I'd landed right in the middle of all the action and felt every heart-pounding decision and every harrowing step as if it were my own life on the line. Carys is a doctor working in an understaffed hospital in Khartoum. While she's in a remote home saving Shada, a woman in childbirth, the hospital is overrun and two Navy SEALs are dispatched to rescue her, the woman, and her children. Cullen is the hero every woman needs, but none more than Carys and her patients as they flee the woman's abusive husband and the rebel army at the same time. Getting Shada, her children, and Carys to safety is an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat tale that reminds us of the horrific conditions faced in war-torn parts of the world. One of my favorite parts is Cullen's run-in with an enterprising young man who has figured out how to make the best of his less-than-ideal circumstances. The attention to detail (and the requisite amount of research by the author) is outstanding, giving this story a level of authenticity and realism that makes it impossible to put down. Along the way, the tension is relieved by the growing friendship and attraction felt by both Carys and Cullen, but it's not until everyone is safe and Carys and Cullen are stateside again that they're able to step back, take a deep breath, and figure out what the future holds. It is in this last part of the book that Cullen's heroism really starts to shine as he helps Carys deal with the traumas she's endured that don't seem to be ending. I loved the way these two instinctively know how to be exactly what the other needs, sometimes without even words. It's a beautiful, soul-deep romance that has become a hallmark of this author's books. If you like military romances, you'll love this book - and the entire series as well. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

  • take a look

Caitlyn has done it again, she made me laugh, cry and cheer Cullen and Carys on. Being caught in an upheaval in Africa they are left to fend for themselves and a mother and newborn son. Dodging the rebels at every turn they make their way to Cullen's team. From there they have to find a way to make a relationship work after returning home.
