    Historical Romance

Hmmm…after reading some of the reviews mentioning that the heroine of this book might have lived by modern rather than historical morals I did some research and found that premarital relations were not unheard of in the highlands in the 1800’s. So, with that in mind… The prologue to the book was intense and made me feel as if I was with Gabriel on the battlefield. He was a warrior and leader of men expecting to end his life as a soldier. Suddenly apprised of the fact that a distant uncle died leaving him Duke of Lattimer saw his life change rather suddenly. Off he went to England with his aide-de-camp to assess what being a duke entailed, find out the state of his properties and visit his sister. Having determined that his two properties in England were fine but that there were issues with his holding in Scotland he headed there to find out what was what. Fiona Blackstock has been in charge of the Lattimer property since her brother disappeared and though she has done her best there have been problems. Having the new duke show up is not what she had hoped for and her goal is to get him to leave as quickly as possible…at least at first. She cares for the people and the land and wants only the best for them. Over time she begins to question her allegiance to the Duke of Dunncraigh over that to the people she is responsible for. Add into the mix her increasing respect for Gabriel and their physical interest in one another and it becomes an interesting situation. This was an entertaining book and if you can set aside the idea that a woman must be a virgin when she marries, a duke must marry someone of his own station and a few other things then this will definitely be a fun book for you to read. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

    Awesome Historical Romance

Hero In The Highlands by Suzanne Enoch is a phenomenal read. Ms Enoch has provided readers with a well written book. I love the characters in this book, they are amazing! Fiona and Gabriel's story is loaded with action, drama, suspense, humor and spice. This fast paced book is a pleasure to read. I enjoyed Hero In The Highlands and can't wait to read more by Suzanne Enoch in the future. Hero In The Highlands is book 1 of the No Ordinary Hero Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I won a copy of this book from Goodreads.

    Hero in the Highlands

I grab up every book of Suzanne's I can find. I am glad I chose this one. She has a way of giving the reader a history lesson while they read her stories. This is an era of Wellington and Napoleon and Gabriel made Major and he has a lost uncle who dies and gives him the title Duke. Spoiler. He and his aide-de-camp rode to Scotland to see what is the problem with his Castle is. Spoiler. This story is full of action. It goes from war to dealing with troubles with another Clan. Fiona is the steward and runs the property. Spoiler. He is in for a wild ride as a Sassanach going against a Scottish Chief. I liked this story. It shows you how everyone lived and worked back in those days. I wish I could get to Scotland. I had a problem in not being able to put this down. I almost needed tissues but I made it through. I hope you will give this book a chance. Enjoy choosing to read this book! I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.

    Unexpected Inheritance

Major Gabriel Forrester is a solider through and through. He lives for battle and seems indestructible. When Wellington orders him to his tent after a battle, he is sure he will be disciplined for defying him. He has a huge change coming to his life and maybe his most important battle yet. Fiona has been working hard to keep her Clan fed and working. The land is owned by an absentee Duke, whose family is believed to be carrying a curse. For the last few years things have been happening that make it almost impossible to make any sort of profit. I have not given you the surname of our heroine because that would be a spoiler. For an English solider to try and sort out problems in the highlands is never going to be easy. When someone is actively sabotaging every move he makes, it's time to declare war. A really great adventure / romance, with danger, laughs and a very sexy hero. This story has got great characters that I would love to hear more of. They have lots of work to do. Surely there are more stories to come. I hope. I loved it.

    Delicious &a Delightful!

Loved it! Dazzling, Delicious and Delightful. This is a well crafted historical romance filled with humor, intrigue, conspiracy, war and wonderful sharp and sassy banter as well as charming romance. The stunningly beautiful detailed descriptive narrative, places the reader firmly in 1800's Scottish highlands. I felt it brought the story to life being surrounded by the sights, sounds and character of the breathtaking surroundings as well as the dialect. This story will take you away to a beautiful and historical rundown castle that has been plagued with mishaps and ghosts as well as a family curse. But most of all I immensely enjoyed the charming romance between the determined War hero Gabriel and the sharp and sassy witted, strong willed Fiona. Their relationship is fascinating and humorous as well as full of some delicious delights. I can't wait for the next in this series. Highly Recommended!! I received a ARC though Netgalley and I voluntarily agreed to post a honest review of my own thoughts of this story.
