    Hero's lot

There was a very very big gap between this book and the last one and you really had to try to fill in the gap to understand what was happening. It also got very boring and a chore to read, jus,t as it started to get interesting it ended and I will leave it there, no longer interested in what happens to this lot.

    Couldn't put it down

Errol is brought before the Judica on charges of consorting with herbwomen - who talk to spirits. The church doesn’t believe it’s Aurae, the Spirit of Deas. He’s also charged with casting to find out who the next king is, without approval. He hadn’t done this - the priest Martin, and the reader, Luis had. But in order to prevent that from happening, the Archbenefice allows Errol to be found guilty on the first charge. Till he finishes that penance, he can’t be charged with the second. However, he gets overruled in terms of the penance; Errol is tasked with going to Merakh and killing Varon. He’s placed under a compulsion to do so. Meanwhile, Martin and Luis leave so they’re not found out, and in order to find out why Errol is so important. Along the way they meet Karele, and learn more of Aurae. Their theology is challenged, and they find out more about Errol. Eventually they reunite with Errol and his companions and try to help him in his quest. There’s lots of twists and turns, and plenty of action. Some romance as well. Read Bk 1 first. I couldn’t put it down! Only gave it 4 stars because there were more than 3 spelling/grammar errors (there were 7 or 8).
