    Really, I tried very hard to love this series of books. However, I found the writing to be very predictable and the story line lacking . The author never again mentions several protagonist from the very first book and their stories are left unfinished. Likewise, the relationships between the Havershams, Drake and Mrs. Dutton leave the reader to wonder how they came to be together or if it was just some miraculous alignment of the stars. In this particular book, we are faced with page after page of Ellie’s self-doubt. It becomes almost exhausting to read. We get it, she doesn’t feel worthy. Blah, blah, blah ...
