    Boring boring boring. Just no.

No no no no no. This was not good. Boring. If you are looking for a Nora Roberts book don’t get this one. Try one of her older books you may not have read. The characters in this were boring. All surface. Nothing that made you want to root for them.

1st part is good, the rest is dephthless, boring

I am a big fan from Nora Roberts and look forward to this book. It started great, but then halfway thorough it just fizzled out. The main character turned really shallow without any of the typical strength or growth of a NR book. I good really bored for stretches with the amount of plot repetitions and there is no romance and no suspense, just lots pages with background noise. The landscape description has more depth than the characters. It does feel bloated and is worlds away from Shelter in Place or Come Sundown. I am really disappointed.

More of a Sprawler than a Thriller

Solid, lazy, and amusing summer read, but definitely not her best. It's on par with Under Currents, but not nearly as good as Shelter in Place. Very few actual thrills after the beginning part of the novel, which had a very, very good hook, and did deliver a few great thrills which is why I give it three stars. As the bad guys were identified immediately there was no mystery or suspense to be had, and her one and only 'twist' barely deserves the name. She delivers (as usual) an engaging cast of characters and a lot of great atmosphere in the setting, although, again that falls short of many of her other books as she doesn't do much with them. For what I'd call a sprawler there's also a real lack of any engaging sub-plots. Final opinion: It's a good lazy morning/beach read, but not something I'd re-read either and no where near the quality of her best works (for reference, my top five NR's are Northern Lights, Montana Sky, Carolina Moon, Shelter in Place, and Whiskey Beach).

I normally enjoy Nora Roberts books but I found this one to be very blah with none of her usual style or flair. Would not recommend this book.

    Unforgettable

What an absolutely wonderful book. I have to say this is her best one yet. Written about tragedy. But how family and the bond and strength of love helps Cate and everyone through. I found it hard to put down but a welcome break from all that is occuring right now. Well done and thank you for the wonderful journey I went on through your amazing story.
